Does this support the weight of a handheld marine vhf radio (specifically one of the standard horizon radios)?

Specifically I don’t know. It holds both Baofeng UV5R with 3800mah battery, 18” antenna and the UV9R waterproof. I have no problem with it. Never had a marine HT of mine but saw and handled a couple that others had. I'm sure your HT is of similar size and weight. ( I owned a 24’ cabin cruiser out of Ft Walton/ Eglin AFB FL)
