Is this another AX88772 chipset ?

As of late 2022, this adapter's Ethernet chipset has been updated to ASIX AX88179A. Previously, they used to use Realtek RTL8153, but thankfully left that outdated thing behind.

Doe it work with MacBook Air?

The current version (2022) works at full USB 3.0 speed on the MacBook Air M2 (2022).

As of 2022, this adapter IS compatible with the Nintendo Switch, since it now uses a USB 3.0 Ethernet chipset supported by the Switch (AX88719A). Other supported chipsets are the Asix AX88179 (discontinued in favor of this AX88179A) and Asix AX88772.

Can i usb tether my phone data?

Actually this item is designed for laptop. And we just tested and verified that it can just work with phones with over the android 7.0 version like Samsung S8. And it needs a OTG cable extra. Thanks!
