Is it possible to use extra sata power cable to convert to 9 pin usb and power this on all the time? any suggestions on converter?

This remote needs power at all times in order for it to shutdown and power back on and my older motherboard does not have power once it shuts down. So I ordered a "motherboard 9 pin to usb 2.0 adapter" and plugged it into a portable battery and plugged the other end into 9 pin interface. Then plug usb 2.0 plug into charging port of battery then plug usb cord from battery into usb port of pc. Then connect power pin and reset pin in motherboard as instructed in the instructions. Hope this helps

My power button broke can this replace it as a main power button?

Yes it can,the only problem is you have to chaing the battry every time its gat emty

The battery is aCR2 available almost Anywhere batteries are sold. It is the same kind that parts most cameras.
