How much sand does this hold?

Recommended was 150 lbs. So three 50lb bags. That's what we used and it works out great.

Does it have any kind of drainage on the bottom?

No, there is no drainage hole. It is a matter of dumping the water out if you use it as a pool; however, without chlorine, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to keep standing water for more than one use.

What are the dimensions?

I gave it as a gift and am unsure of the dimensions.

Does the lid stay put when it is very windy, or does it fly off?

The lid stays very well, we've never had it fly off. It keeps rain water out too.
