Header paint that doesn't burn off if you do it right. Did it on my 4x4 now on my Camaro. Holds up fine. Kinda reminds you of soot so let it cure good. Don't wear your best shirt when installing. Doubt there's much heat dampening but I'd rather not wrap nor donate a kidney to be able to afford jet hot

It is not the first time I am buying and using this High Temp Paint spray, either Flat Black or Glossy Black. It is relatively expensive and it provides good results on hot surfaces: it depends very much of the kind of the surface and the preparation work being done before the application. In my opinion, it provides longer durability when applied over a cast iron part (ex: exhaust manifold) than o a new exhaust pipe or muffler -- it will start to flake after several months, in particular off the aluminized or factory painted (exhaust) parts. On older exhaust parts, I had better luck after removing the surface rust and cleaning with good brake cleaner. Painted over the exhaust wrap... mixed results. It the wrap is in areas that are some more exposed to whatever flies under the vehicle, the paint and (later) the wrap is not going to last long, as they are not quite abrasion resistant. Otherwise: read and follow the instruction.

I dunno. I ordered a can. Took a couple days to get it. It did one of three pipes for $15. I ordered another. Got impatient and went to the box store. Come to find out Rustoleum makes a 2000 degree ceramic paint. I got one to compare. For 5 dollars cheaper i got twice the coverage out of a can of rustoleum. Identical finish. I will update this post later with results of pipe with VHT vs Rustoleum. I am willing to bet VHT isnt worth the five day wait and 5 dollars extra. And now the price is 20 so thats ten dollars extra.... double the price for half the coverage.... meh i dunno about that.... check back in a month. 1st edit. The 2nd can I bought... the tip failed halfway thru using the can... The spray tips suck for the price point.

I selected VHT’s Flame Proof Paint based on strong online reviews and several positive video demonstrations. I followed a careful prep process starting with a thorough sanding of my paramotor exhaust, progressing from 120 to 400 grit to ensure a smooth and clean surface. After degreasing, I applied three coats of VHT’s High Temp Primer, followed by three coats of this flame proof paint. After letting paint set up I went through two separate heating cycles to cure that paint on the engine itself, allowing the engine to idle for 30 minutes with a laser thermometer I was right in the sweet spot of 225 to 300 then did a run up and ran the engine hard to get that second cycle after cooling. After this I waited a full week I did alI took my paramotor out for a flight. Less than 30 minutes in actual hard operation, I looked back and was surprised to see the paint near the head and first bend completely flaked off, exposing only the primer. The rest of the exhaust, beyond the bend, held up well—as I had expected the entire application would. VHT claims this product can handle temperatures up to 2000°F, but in my experience, it failed in the hottest zones far sooner than expected. Ironically, a previous attempt using a cheaper high-temp paint from Ace (with significantly less surface prep) lasted over a year before showing any signs of wear. In short, while this paint may perform well in lower-heat areas, it did not live up to its high-temp claims where it mattered most. Disappointed, given the time and care invested.

My favorite header paint for race car application. it doesn't burn off. Easy to touch up. Drys fast.
