Herban Cowboy - Deodorant Dusk, 2.8oz sticks

Lovely product but very expensive now

It is not truely effective against perspiration even in mildly warm weather.

I have sensitive skin, so this is one of the only deodorants I have found that does not bother me, and actually works to deodorize body odor. It is not an antiperspirant - you will still sweat - but it DOES get rid of the stink. And I'm not just talking about covering up your BO with a perfume. The various scents of the deodorant are actually pretty subtle. I think it works because it has natural ingredients (herbs with antibacterial and antifungal properties, etc.) that kill bacteria get rid of the smell. If I'm stinky (after the gym, etc.) and I put this on, most of the stink goes away after about 10-15 minutes. It may not work the same way as a mainstream, synthetic deodorant (Old Spice, etc.) but if you want something more natural, or more hypoallergenic, this is a great choice. It definitely works better than the crystal stick deodorant or a lot of the other "hippie" deodorants out there. The deodorant itself is a soft stick. It easily spreads onto your skin and hairs, and has a bit of a moisturizing effect, kind of like a lotion. This is ideal for dry/sensitive/eczema-prone skin, which can become further irritated by sweat and wet hairs rubbing as you move around. The deodorant will coat your skin with a thin, non-greasy barrier against irritation, and also removes the stink from your sweat. It is gentle enough to use in more personal/sensitive areas also, if that's something you're looking for. I prefer the "Dusk" scent, which I think is more subtle; my fiance prefers the "Forest" scent which is piney and a bit spicier. "Wild" is also pretty spicy, and I think the least subtle out of these 3. I have not tried any of the other scents.

Love this stuff. Havent been able to find it in my local stores. Glad this product is still around.

Finally--a natural deodorant that I can get behind and really works! After using non natural antiperspirants and deodorants for most of my life and recently developing a swollen lymph node in my armpit after switching to a clinical grade dove antiperspirant, I've come to realize that much of the ingredients in all the popular deodorants and antiperspirants contain ingredients that are potentially harmful to your body. In my case, it's effected my lymphatic system. So as you can imagine, I've had to discontinue using them. I've tried Tom's of Maine and they are decent, but still contain things that I'm not comfortable absorbing into my body and I have to re-apply it frequently due to odor returning after a few hours. This is not the case with Herban Cowboy. I was skeptical at first, but it truly does work and lasts a good 8 hours for me. I was worried that it might loose it's effectiveness after a few hours and that my coworkers or friends would catch a whiff of me, but that hasn't happened yet. And it even holds up when I'm working out or drumming in my rather hot garage. Scent wise, it's okay. It's not overbearing, or dull and I think it's something that the ladies and gents can both use. I myself, am a female if that helps.
