I think this is such a great kit. It came with a little paper that you can unfold, and on that paper, it tells you the equations to calculate the amount of calories in the form of an equation. It tells you the science behind the project, and even has outlines for a graph and analysis, and shows you the exact procedures. It tells you how to compare the calorie content to the amount listed on the Nutrition Facts label on the boxes. Basically, it told me everything I needed to know to do my project, and showed me the steps for the other parts of the project such as the analysis, conclusion, etc. This project kit is great. However, the experiment paper says that you also need a temperature or thermometer probe, a digital scale with 0.1 gram accuracy, and matches or a lighter. Make sure to get these ahead of time, along with whatever food sample you desire. Dry food with some fat content works best. Ex: popcorn, nuts, chips, cereal, croutons. this experiment kit was simply incredible, and I recommend it to anybody looking for a good science project. Five out of five stars. :D

Everything you need for a science project - such as finding the number of cals for a particular food. We were going to order ours through a science fair/science olympiad website but it would take weeks for it to be delivered. Via amazon prime it was two days. The kit comes with a small booklet with step by step instructions on how to conduct the experiment. Everything is shipped in a box: 200ml capacity heat-proof glass flask, metal stand and plate to hold it up, cork and pick to hold up the food sample, and a rubber stopper to holding in the thermometer. The thermometer doesn't come with the kit but is needed for the experiment. We bought a generic one on Amazon and while it was tight and a little tall, it worked perfect for the project.

Used it for my sister's science fair experiment, setup is a little odd since you have to handle a hot flask at times, buttttt it gets the job done

The setup is a little awkward because you have to handle a hot glass flask, but for the money it's great. Used it for biology class.
