is this an actual green light or simply a light with a green filter on the front?

The outside lens is actually clear, ...........but it also looks like the bulb itself is clear or white.........I believe it gets its green hue from a little green square BEHIND the bulb. That's the best I can tell.

no, it's not 660nm, the wavelength is from 620nm-625nm.

how long does the battery last?

The standard AA battery lasted several hours and was still strong when I replaced it with the 14500 battery which has been in for a week and used 5 hours and is still strong as new. I picked up a rechargeable 14500 kit on Amazon it is working great, good investment to pair up.

Yeah, you see that a lot now. Sellers sell multiple versions/styles/colors of a product from a single page. It can be very frustrating when it's completely different styles of a product, like shoes. But, I have a red and a white version of this flashlight and they are great! I just placed an Amazon order. I wish I would have remembered to order the ultraviolet one. The body is apparently made of aluminum. The cree LED beam is bright and can be focused down to the square shape of the LED. When the beam is wide it provides a clean consistent circle of light, unlike old incandescent bulbs that cast overlapping rings of light and shadows. The red light is good for when you need subdued light, that is, when either you don't want to give away your position, like in the military, or when you just don't want your eyes to have to readjust to the dark when you turn off the light. It's good for trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I don't know how many lumens the lights are offhand, but they are pretty bright. I bet the ultraviolet light will make a room pop! I have some small one LED UV keychains that I got on Amazon and that one little LED lights up the room. Get the UV light and review it.
