Cardinal Industries Mexican Train Domino Game with Aluminum Case Game, Basic (6030756)

I wanted the hard carry case to store the dominoes. This case is alright, it has a bit of a funny smell- like the things my grandparents used to own. Not sure if Dominoes have not been so popular lately, and its therefore been hanging around a warehouse. Quite possibly might explain the smell. The Dominoes are ceramic, and have lovely colours, some of them have small marks, but it doesn't bother me- they will get used a lot anyway. They were also complete, so none missing. The hold strap on the case (on the inside- to hold the paper scorecard, I suppose) was ripped, but again, better than a cardboard box any day. I was a bit disappointed that the holder for the game (the centre piece) is just a thin piece of plastic- other sets I have seen have a sturdy domino holder with a button that plays the train sound when someone wins, which the kids love and they were a bit disappointed that it didn't play train sounds. But it was like in the description I suppose, so I may have to order something like that separately. All in all, an ok set, but great fun for the family. We love Mexican train dominoes game and play a lot with my 9 and 6 yr old kids!!

This game is brilliant, my nephew had one exactly the same as this from America, and all who played it (adults included), thought it was thoroughly enjoyable!However, when this one came for my daughters birthday, the condition was awful! The box was damaged, it was clearly a second, and had been used! The scoring pad was folded and dented with writing. The dominos were some wrapped in dirty cling film, and some not wrapped at all! A lot of them were marked, and chipped too!! Had my daughter not been desperate to receive this as a birthday present, I would have returned it!

The dominoes, although sealed, we're obviously second hand as they were covered in small scratches and the shine had almost been rubbed off by use. This is the second set we've purchased from this seller, the first was bought as a present for our son and his family and was absolutely fine, there was a huge difference in the quality of the second set. When I contacted Amazon they were very apologetic and offered me a replacement set or a reduction in price. I took the latter as this game was for our own use and I didn't want the hassle of buying another set which also turned out to be second hand. I would have been extremely disappointed and returned it if this had been a gift for someone. Having said all of that, it's a great family game which can be played with children and adults. We play with friends but our 7 and 9 year old grandchildren really enjoy it too.

Mean American Sale techniques are immediately reflected in the poorly contrived rule book, the ommission of simple coloured markers, and absent station attractions such as train whistles blown at the end of the game. For absolute beginners having to learn on there own is little fun-yet the game can be readily configured to suit a wide range of people abilities. There is a whole price range of kits with fairly standard domino packs but insufficient info on what is being made available as accessories in each kit. Tragic marketing easily leads to early disappointment quite unnecessally

Love the game. I have bought several editions over the years as gifts, and finally one (this) as replacement. The quality seems to get cheaper with each passing year. The dominos are thinner, and have more marks on the reverse blank side. Also, the little train station with my original edition is now replaces with a thing plastic black octagon. I serves its purpose just fine, but not as charming as past years.

I ordered the one in the tin as I thought the tiles would fit in nicely (as in a mahjong set). They do not. Even if you place them in the tin neatly, the minute you move the tin they fly around inside. This is a shame because otherwise it is a good set (although some of the colours used to mark the spots on the various dominoes are very similar which is confusing to younger players).

I was very excited to recieve the game however when I opened up the box the packaging was very dirty. Taking the dominoes out of the packaging left my hands black. After taking them out all the dirt had transferred to the dominoes so then before we could even play had to wash and dry all of them. Throughout playing we noticed lots of things wrong with the tiles. The first if you zoom in can reveal dirt. Even after throughoughly washing the tiles this dirt remained. The second photo shows paint marks where they havnt finished it to a high enough standard. The third photo shows where the paint hasn't quite covered the holes. The final photo shows one whole isn't even covered with any paint. The grey dot is miscoloured and half of the black line is missing. After paying £29.99 for this game the standard is terrible. It's too heavy to return so I guess I'm stuck with it? Not happy!

Person it was gift for was quite disappointed . This was to do with the central station part - she said her friend bought the game for this same price on amazon where the station/gold part was better quality and the train tooted !??! impressive casing though. Dont think it had instructions in it ? either that or my friend cheats !! Shop around is my advice to ensure you are getting what you want as it looks as though there are quite a few versions
