Want to buy this for my grandson to carry his hot wheels cars. Will plastic latch stay closed with this much weight?

cant guarantee it but i think i would. i use mine as mini tool box for the hs, screw driver, wrench, etc and i just went and picked it up by the handle and it seems pretty secure. the way it is made holding it by the handle does not seem to put that much stress on the latch

Can this container hold full size nail polish bottles stored upright?

I have a number of these handy cases. They make wonderful sewing kits, first aid kits, craft kits, and much more. I plan on ordering more! I ordered these initially for nail polish. I have am extensive collection of all major brands from Avon, Butter of London, Essie, L'Oreal and Sally Hansen. The Sally Hansen Complete Manicure bottles are the tallest and they fit nicely upright in this case. Each case can hold up to 36 bottles, depending on the bottle size and shape. This case is sturdy enough to hold them securely. As you may know nail polish bottles are HEAVY! I have two cases full along with emery boards, files, and other manicure items tucked in. Perfect!

The video shows that the case has a nice tray, but I don't see it anywhere else. Does the case come with a tray?

No there was no tray and as I reviewed the video I saw it was not the same product I bought. I got the basic box, no tray, no fancy latch and no extra option for an extra lock. If you did not receive what you ordered, I would contact Amazon and complain. In my case the basic box was sufficient.
