Can be a little tricky to set up, but not terrible, and excellent printer.
I bought this to replace an HP officejet that was a nightmare. Constantly getting lost from wireless connectivity and being impossible to reconnect for hours or days, and then exactly 1 yr after purchase the print heads (which weren't removable) jammed up and it became a paperweight. My one requirement? Not an HP. Imagine my surprise when this printer arrives and I discover that though labeled a Samsung, it's an HP (Hp bought samsungs printer division or something, I don't really know). I cursed and cursed while setting this up and dealing with some of the same nonsensical crap that HP forces you to deal with (proprietary software install to wirelessly connect and other similar "features"). I remember there are a LOT of "guides" online for setting this exact model up that instruct you to press buttons and make menu selections that THIS PRINTER DOES NOT HAVE... which complicated things greatly (I assume it was a revision difference). It wasn't easy, taking the better part of an afternoon and a LOT of my wife getting aggravated with me to get all our devices to connect... but that's where the HP nightmare ended. This printer STAYS connected and works great. Print quality is fantastic and fast, and I haven't even touched the replacement toner cartridge it came with (done hundreds of pages with the starter toner cartridge and it's still going strong). The printer does go into standby VERY quickly when idle (like 10 seconds), and it's hit or miss if sending it a job wakes it up... more often than not I have to press the OK button on the printer to wake it up THEN send it the print job from my computer... our phones seem to have better luck, it almost always wakes up for them automatically. That said, I parked it arms reach from where I sit at my computer and it's been no problem for me. I'm THRILLED to be rid of that officejet and using this printer... which actually works... after months of the guessing game over whether the officejet would be connected/connectable today or not. This is how I remember printers working... as in ACTUALLY working. I'm still never touching an HP branded printer again, but Samsung branded models get the thumbs up from me. Yeah I probably should give it 4 stars because of the difficulty with setup, but I'm just so happy to be rid of that officejet that anything which replaces it gets a bonus star.

awesome printer, CHEAP price
This printer is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO freaking good. I'm so glad I got it. Wirecutter recommended it and sometimes their recs are hit or miss, but this one was spot on. First of all, the most important thing is, does it connect to the wireless network? YES. The instructions are a bit convoluted, but the website that comes with it easily explains it. Second of all, does it perform the additional functions you need? YES. I used it to scan my tax returns. Easy as heck with their app. It does copying as well, but I can't confirm if it works since I didn't use that function yet. I see a lot of reviews complaining about this not connecting to macs. Well, I have an imac and macbook pro, and found setting it up to be super easy. However, maybe thse setup tips will help: 1) Don't try to connect this via wifi from the getgo. Use the USB and connect to your mac. 2) Get the app from their website, download it to your mac. Follow the instructions. 3) get the app on the appstore. Yes, there's an app you can DL to your iphone. 4) Once you connect printer to the wifi, then you can disconnect it. I think people tried too hard to connect it via wifi. But you gotta do it through USB. Only thing I'm worried about is that HP handles the warranty -

Easy Breezy
My old Samsung played out and I was looking for this new one. After reading the reviews I was a bit worried about the setup features and the WiFi but my husband is the GoTo person in the community so I figured with him as backup and for the price I could not pass it up. Wonderful printing quality and faster that the old SCX4623F model. As far as the setup, I had my husband set it up and he was disappointed that it will not install on his old MAC with 10.4 but quite easy with the CD on my MAC OSX 10.11.6. He did decide to change the WiFi settings and rather than run the setup again as recommended, he found the application on the CD under MAC_Installer\InstallFiles\Wireless Settings.Zip. Apparently there is a wireless app in there that was much easier than the original install. Now he can Print from the old MAC via the Direct Connect Samsung Wifi but with a weird quirk, he had to tell his 10.4 that it was his old 4623 rather than the Default Generic Post script the WiFi set up. So apparently it will work on old some old computers is you have a driver for an old 10.4 SCX Samsung. Yay for all Now to get some MICR toner so I can get to work.

Difficult to Use And Setup
I just spent over 45 minutes trying to print an envelope. Apparently, Placing an envelope in the manual feed tray always causes a paper jam. Removing the envelope from the manual fee tray does not clear the paper jam. I eventually succeeded by flattening the creases of the envelope with my finger. I never had a problem with these same envelopes in my old HP inkjet printer. Installation of the printer drivers on my Mac was equally painful and difficult. The user interface with buttons and LCD display on the top of the printer are even more confusing and difficult to use. I bought this printer because of a good review on WireCutter. The review was wrong. This is a terrible device. While this printer may have some technological advantages such as very crisp resolution with incredibly small fonts, those advantages are outweighed by incredibly poor usability and difficult setup. I returned this printer, and I exchanged it for the much better device Brother DCP-L2540DW. Setting up the Brother printer was incredibly easy, fast, and painless compared to the Samsung. After setting up the Brother to print from my Mac over Wi-Fi, I then tried to print from my iPhone using AirPrint. It just worked! No additional set up, no indecipherable menus or LCD displays, no poorly written software from Samsung. It just worked. One final note, I printed several pages of text with small fonts using the Brother. It's a 600 DPI laser printer, and the text was incredibly sharp and crisp. The resolution is perfect.

Great Printer, Crappy Setup For Home Network
Awesome printer. Setup was a bit difficult. I'm computer savvy but have a home network which complicated things a bit. The wifi setup is confusing. One thing to be aware of is that you can't just plug and play. You have to install the software and drivers off of the included disc. This is a problem if you have a computer that doesn't have a disc drive. Like my MacBook Pro. The website is horrible. I had to spend 15 minutes on a chat with a customer service agent just to get a link to download the software online that comes on the disc. Once I got that things moved a little quicker. Note the printer turns itself off after inactivity. Which is nice...BUT it doesn't turn itself on when you send something to it. So it can turn off and you not realize it until after you've spend 10 minutes wondering why its not printing. The light stays on on the unit even when its off so it can be confusing. Otherwise great printer. Good quality prints fast!

Fit my home network install perfectly.
I had a 13yo Samsung laser printer that had seen better days and wanted something network attachable to replace it. This fit the bill perfectly, setup was easy and after a few trips around the house for setup all PC's are now able to remote print. It prints nicely and so far the scanning utility has worked great. Its to bad Samsung got out of the printer business and this printer is now supported by HP. That said if you only need a black and white AIO, IMO this is a nice little gem for the price in a home/small office environment.

Perfect for home or home office
Great printer. The tray instructions suck, but it's good after you figure it out. Works well with the Mac, though Samsunysits sucks too. I had to do a support chat with them to get the correct scan software. Print quality is good. The toner saving mode still works great. Copier and feed tray is good. Only odd thing I notice is my power blinks when I print I'm guessing it's the power drawl to hear the fuser. Might just be my condo.

The Best!
This is my second purchase of this Samsung Printer. I loved the first one, and had it for several years before it was just worn out. The customer service dept. was always so good at helping me with any problems. Due to the customer service Samsung gave. and due to the quality of the printer, I purchased a second one. I use it for work in my home office and it is quick to scan, print and copy. The quality of the print is the best. I had a little trouble setting up my new printer, but I called the Samsung company and they quickly fixed my problem and all is well. Since I have already bought 2 if this item, it is clear I would recommend this printer to others.
