Excellent curtains with some setup
The 21 black shades I ordered are excellent at blocking light and the integration with HomeKit works flawlessly. The measurements I provided for my windows all fit perfectly, so make sure to follow their directions. If you are unsure of a measurement, go a little short on the width so it won't be too snug when installing. Installation of the hardware was dead simple and setup with the iOS Home app took no time at all. I am able to control them with a Homepod and the optional remote controls I purchased reliably, and they are a fun conversation piece for guests on top of the convenience they provide. A few caveats if you are looking to order them to be aware of: 20 out of the 21 shades I ordered work perfectly, but one was not reporting its status in HomeKit correctly and would not accept commands. After emailing the service team, they sent a replacement HomeKit adapter to see if that would correct the issue, but it did not. Following that, they sent a replacement motor with instructions on how to replace it, and it finally worked. The service was very helpful and patient in troubleshooting and fixing the issue. Just keep in mind that any replacement parts you receive will be shipped direct from the manufacturer, so it may take several days at least to receive it. When installing the shades, they will likely be set to the measurements to provided when you order. This means the upper and lower limit of the shades will be set and the remote control may already be paired. Test each shade individually to make sure this is the case! If a lower or upper limit is not set it may result in the shade motor continuously running and grind the supports holding them in place. I made this mistake but I was able to solve it by sanding the plastic side and gluing the gear back in place. The kit will include instructions on setting the upper and lower limits and I highly suggest going through it for each unit. Once it is set, no further maintenance is required. These are very affordable and functional shades and I am very pleased with the product and the service that came with it.

Absolutely love this smart blind!
The custom measurements were spot on and the fit is perfect. I ordered the 'coffee' color and it looks exactly like the photos, very clean and high-end. It blocks the light perfect. I installed it like 6 months months ago and it’s still working flawlessly, no issues with the motor or the hardware. I chose the Alexa-compatible motor because I have Alexa at home, and at first I thought something was wrong because it wouldn’t respond. It turns out you must have at least one remote to set everything up before Alexa control will work. I hadn’t ordered a remote, so I assumed the blind was defective and contacted customer service. They replied quickly, were very helpful, and we realized it was my mistake for not adding a remote to the order. Once I got the remote and did the initial setup, everything made sense. Honestly, the remote is so convenient that I just use that now instead of Alexa. If you’re ordering the Alexa motor, make sure you also order at least one remote from the beginning so you don’t run into the same confusion I did. Overall, I’m really grateful everything turned out so well. A professional blind company would have charged me a lot more for product and installation, but I was able to install this myself without any problems. Highly recommend!!

Very Nice Smart Shades that just work with many interfaces
My window’s shades were beginning to crack, rattle and disintegrate. Just trying to move them was a disaster. It was obvious I needed new blinds for all my windows. Blinds that worked well and were easy to open and close. Oh and it would be nice if they were automated. I noticed an ad on TV for a blinds that interfaced with smart phones and a controller. So I thought Amazon, they might have a useful product. I decided I wanted a controller minimum and it would be nice if I could control it as a smart device. In looking through Amazon, I came across Graywind roll shades. Wow, a shade that would roll up and disappear. It wouldn’t just hang there on the side or rotate open closed like my slotted old shades. And it had a remote plus local network interface and Alexa/Google voice control. Plus it was wall powered, no batteries to change. So I ordered two rollup shades for my front windows. To my surprise Graywind responded immediately via email asking for confirmation on my shade size and specifications. After an email reply, they changed the order to my exact requirements and processed my window shades in a day. In two weeks from clicking place my order on Amazon, the order arrived via Fedex from China. The window shades were packed well with everything I needed inside. It took two bracket clips screwed to the opening to hold the shades. Honestly, it took me longer to remove the old shades than to install the new Graywind shades. I carefully measured and predrilled screw holes in my window sills. The new Graywind shades fit perfectly in the clips. The only minor thing was routing the power and antennas though the gap on the top side so the roll shades didn’t interfere. There are two antennae, one for the remote (433MHz) and second for WiFi (2.4GHz only). After this was done I plugged in the shades to 115V power and loaded two AAA batteries into the remote. The shades responded to the remote and I was able to open and close them perfectly. I measured the shade width and shade height and they matched my specification exactly. The shade when lowered definitely blocked all light, 100% as advertised. Ok. Next step was to download the phone app. I have an iPhone so I went to the apple app store and found Smart Life and easily loaded it into my iPhone. It was simple and it worked for me immediately after it found my home network and prompted me for my password. Next step was Alexa on Amazon. I had a bit more difficulty just finding the Skill. Amazon skill searching is cluttered and awkward. I found it, installed it, and enabled it. The first thing, I needed to rename the Graywind shade names. They came as default Chinese names. No problem, just went to my iPhone and clicked the pencil on top right, inserted my first shade as ‘front shade’ and my second shade as ‘side shade’. Then the fun began. Alexa open front shade. Nothing. Alexa front shade up and the shade went up. Alexa front shade down and the shade went down. Ok, up and down are keywords. Then I discovered Alexa front shade 50 and the shade went half way open. I finally figured out (Graywind need to update this in your manual) I could position the shades in increments of 10 from 0 closed to 100 wide open. This was absolutely fantastic. My wife loves these shades. We have ordered more for the rest of the windows in need. Finally I created an Alexa group. I called it ‘window shades’. I put my two shade names into the group. Now when I say 'Alexa window shades 50' both shades half open. I also tried leaving the shades open and while I was on the road I commanded the shades closed with my iPhone. When I came home the shades were closed. Yep, it works remotely via internet anywhere in the world. This is a fantastic product and it works well. I cannot attest to how long the shades will last, but the product I received was well engineered and its case appearance is very nice.

Smart Roller Shade
Pros: For reference my shade is approx. 74” wide, In blackout with the weighted (grey) bottom. I also splurged on a solar charging option as this window gets the maximum amount of sunlight. I also got the 15 channel remote. The shade is of great quality. You can immediately tell after removing from the packaging. The size and accuracy of measurements are perfect. Especially when you follow the instructions they give you prior to purchasing. Heat and light blockage are superb, note I choose to have the shade roll mounted outside the window versus inside. Also, I had the roll come down on the backside versus the front for maximum light blocking. Cons: The brackets that attach to the valance are not super strong individually. Due to my shade being so large. I misjudged it being secure on one end and it came down partially, completely bending one bracket. They do however give multiple brackets and you only need two for one of this size. I would highly recommend a second persons help for larger shades. The remote set up is a bit challenging and requires a small learning curve. I did not get Alexa or other home assist on mine so programming the remote is going to take some time. The Greywinds app is also an option, but I would not rely on it, as there are some bugs in the software that still need tuning. This is a pricier option. However, when compared to cheaper ones that require cutting, install time, and labor I would go this route again. It’s more convenient and looks professionally installed. Recommendations: when measuring for length of the shade do 6” or 7” longer than what you need. You can program a limit stop for both up and down when using the app or remote, so extra won’t hurt. Shipped using DHL and they required a signature for receipt. be advised. It also takes a few weeks for them to make the shade and ship it.

Company sent wrong size
I ordered these because my brother in law has them and loves them. The company sent the wrong size. I ordered a different size then what came. So they do not block the light in the bedroom. Great value and works well - true blackout
I purchased this for my master bedroom 8' slider. I originally ordered black, but they messaged me and said the fabric was not suitable at the size I wanted, so they asked me if I preferred a different color. I switched to grey and they rebuilt it before it even left the factory and I still received it on time! Installation: The blind is easy to install, I did it by myself on an 8' slider. It is not heavy, but is a little bulky and it can be tricky to get it to clip in with one person, so two is recommended for a big opening. I highly recommend you buy the extension brackets for an extra couple of bucks as it lets you fine-tune exactly how close to your window the shade comes down. I found that with the standard brackets, it would get hung up on the edge of the window casement, so the extenders let me dial this in perfectly. I was also later able to adjust the top and bottom stop positions using the remote so the blind never goes above the casement anyway, but I'm still glad the blind isn't rubbing against the casement as it would have worn out the blind and the paint. Looks: The blind is simple and looks great. The valence makes it look quite clean. The antenna hangs down a bit on the side but you barely notice. Light blocking: As you can see in the photos, the material blocks ALL the light. You can set the stop position to go all the way to the floor, but I deliberately set it a bit higher. In retrospect, I would have bought the blind to be about 6" wider on each side so there would be less light leakage, but honestly, the room is still DARK. It's just a band around the edge and the extra expense is probably not worth it. Remote: The remote is a little wonky, you'll have to read the directions and keep them for future reference. There is a mount with tape to stick it to the wall and it stays in there with magnets, but they're a bit weak so I could see it falling out pretty easily. You need to keep it pointed at the blind, it doesn't work if it is obscured. You have to read the directions carefully as the "P1" and "P2" buttons are actually in the battery compartment and you need them to set the top/bottom positions, clock, timer, etc. It's easy to get confused, but the directions are clear if you read them carefully (I didn't the first time). It says you can open the battery cover with a pen, but I couldn't, so I used the metal file on a pair of nail clippers. Alexa integration: Did not try the Alexa integration. Overall, a big win as far as I'm concerned. I will try out the Alexa integration or maybe the phone app at some point, but for now, the remote is good enough for me.

Excellent Product - extremely well pleased!
We are extremely pleased with our Graywind motorized remote controlled solar-operated blackout thermal shades. We had a couple of questions about the solar powered option, which their customer service answered promptly and thoroughly. We picked the color we wanted from their sample swatches, ordered them and the shades arrived within about a week of placing our order and were exactly to our specifications. They were carefully packaged, included extra hardware, with the remote control already programmed and ready to use. The remote can operate each shade individually, or both together at once. These are very well-engineered and high quality shades made of substantive fabric. They were very easy to install, even doing so from a ladder on 20' high clerestory windows. They roll up and down quietly and smoothly and are true blackout blinds. We couldn't be more pleased with them. Update one year later: We were so pleased with the two initial blinds we ordered that we ordered four more to the same exact specifications. The blinds arrived quickly and were easy to install. However, one of the motors did not work properly, so we contacted Cherry and Zoe in the customer service department. They gave us suggestions for solving the problem, but when the motor still would not work correctly, they promptly sent us a new motor to install in that blind. Installing the motor was quite easy and all of our four new blinds are now working exactly as they are intended to, along with the two we originally purchased a year earlier. We are VERY pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend Graywind Motorized Roller Shades.

They fit and work perfectly!
I am paralyzed from the shoulders down due to a spinal cord injury that I suffered in a car accident. Getting ready in the morning is a slow process. While I was able to turn on my bedroom lights while still in bed using my voice and smart home controls, it isn’t the same as opening the shades to let the sunshine stream into my room. Now with Graywind shades installed, I can let the sunshine in using my voice! Following the measuring guide on the Graywind website was very easy to ensure that the shades would be the correct size. I placed my order through Amazon and selected a voice-controlled, motorized, black-out shade. The material and motor options allowed the selection of perfect window coverings to match my room design. The shades arrived as a complete package, ready to be installed. They look great, fit perfectly and were very easy to install. It only took a few easy steps to add them to my smart home system. The shades have been up for over a month now and I haven’t had a single problem. I am so grateful that Graywind offers such a helpful product at a very reasonable price. I plan on adding more automated shades to other rooms in my house to help with the heating and cooling bills. Automating the process of opening and closing the shades with smart home controls will have a big impact on saving money by keeping the sunshine out in the summer and letting it in during the winter months.
