I don’t know. I have cockatiels and I put them in the cages . It has never bothered them . They like them. I would think boiling them the cuttlebones would ruin them.

The cuttlebone comes cleaned & safe for your birds. There is a holder which I put the cuttlebone in which keeps it clean. You can always rinse it off.
