It's 25" from the tip of the handle to the bend in the bristles, with about 4" of bristles before the bend and about 7" of bristles after the bend.

Is this okay to use on plastic carboys?

Thank you for your inquiry. This carboy brush is designed for use on glass carboys. There is a red carboy brush designed for use with plastic carboys.

will this fit in a 1 gallon carboy?

Yes it will although it is designed for a 5 gallon. It words just fine to clean a 1 gallon carboy.
