Active cable resistance is too big
I got three such cables to power-up 8 HDDs in my DIY NAS and have one additional cable aside. Short after start I started to get many errors with new HDDs. It took few days to trace the issue down to cables. With active simultaneous operations of all HDDs power supply voltage on connected HDDs drops beyond specified limits. All kind of errors just disappeared as soon as I replaced these cables with SilverStone SST-PP07-BTSBG - 30cm Molex to 4x SATA Sleeved Extension Cable.

Gekauft habe ich mir den Y-Adapter um eine weitere SSD zu bestromen. Stecker angesteckt und die SSD eingebaut. Der Stecker ließ sich problemlos einbinden und hat auch nirgends geklemmt o.ä. Der Adapter schaut ordentlich verarbeitet aus und weißt auch keinerlei scharfe Kanten auf. Alles in allem ein Adapter den man sich auch mal in die Reserve Kiste legen kann. Pros + Super verarbeitet + Preis/Leistung ist für mich ok + Funktion passt Contras - keine Fazit So einen Adapter kann man immer mal gebrauchen, wenn man ab und an an PCs rumbastelt. Von mir gibt es keine Punkte die gegen den Adapter sprechen. Kaufempfehlung.

Simple splitter for SATA power. I ended up using this not as a splitter to add more devices, but as a splitter to extend the range of the cable from where the power was along it. I had a tight fit and could only put things in certain places. This gave me a little more length and flexability to put devices where I wanted them exactly. + Simple and works perfectly + fits firmly, doesn't feel loose. + Adds about 4" from the split point for both segments. - aesthetics are ugly and visible if you're worried about matching the inside of the color of your case - if she wants 8" you'll have to tell her to use both ends.
