Fits perfect in my 2021 Audi fat E-tron, replaces the stock B&O subwoofer in the same enclosure location. The stock ported enclosure is decently sized and falls in the ballpark for cubic volume required for this sub. Paired it with a 300W 4ohm amp and this thing BUMPS even at similar volumes as before, great punchiness. I’d recommend for whoever wants 30-40% more power than the stock sub.

Perfect fit and great sound in my 2005 4Runner. It works great with the factory JBL amp. To my untrained ears, it sounds better than the JBL subwoofer ever did. My kid was laughing because the new sub made his seat "bounce". It was an easy install. I found a guide online to remove the trim panels to get to the subwoofer. Once you're there, you just unplug the factory sub, strip the wires, and plug them into the Rockford Fosgate sub. The black and red wires go into the red connections on the sub, and the green and yellow wires go into the black connections. First time I connected and tested, the sub was working but not making much juice, so I switched wires to the opposite sides (i.e. black and green wires moved to right side of sub, red and yellow wires to left side). After doing that I tested it again, and was it ever thumpin'. I had to drill six holes to mount the new sub, which wasn't a big deal. The most tedious part was screwing the sub in, because I was worried I'd slip and tear a hole in it. Finally, you have to reinstall all the trim panels. Be careful with the 12-volt outlet because it seats really close to the speaker and the connections on it could poke a hole in the face of the sub. Overall replacement time for me was just under 3 hours. I went slow and took my time to make sure I didn't break any connections on the trim panels. I'd suggest a trim kit tool set. I've had one for years and it's so much easier than working with screwdrivers.

I have been searching high and low for a reduced depth 8" subwoofer of high quality as a replacement to go in the factory subwoofer enclosure for my Ford F150. All that advertise reduce depth are not enough. The factory subwoofer is a dual voice coil configuration that is rated at 2 ohms per voice coil, just like the Rockford Fosgate P3SD2-8. It is a sealed enclosure that is compatible to the P3SD2-8. This review will be added to when I hook it up to the amplifier as the sound is the key factor. I do not use the factory amplifier as the one I use is considerably more powerful. I think the factory amp may under power the speaker due to the stiffness of the cone travel, but these are unknowns. Stay tuned! 2days after install: The speaker is wonderful! The sound has so much less distortion than the factory subwoofer that I think that it has less bass, until I hear a low note in the musical content. The thing is that it is accurate bass and not just rumbling. What I did notice is that the gain had to be increased because of it being less efficient than the factory sub. I would caution the people with total factory systems (the factory amp)that they may not get the same performance that I am getting with an Audiopipe 600W RMS(at 1 ohm impedance)amplifier. The crossover frequency has been lowered to 50hz at a slope of 24db per octave. I would highly recommend under these conditions.
