Off label use, still happy!
I used this product in an off label fashion to help semi-attractively insulate the inside of the rooftop door that was cooking our whole second floor. The door is thin and crappy but I can't get it replaced (landlord's 🙄) and I needed something that didn't look TOO tacky. This has done the trick! Our electric bill has already thanked me, And it doesn't look half bad. BE AWARE: ONCE ANY PART OF THE ADHESIVE BACKING MAKES CONTACT WITH THE SURFACE IT IS STICKING TO, YOU ARE NOT MOVING IT AGAIN. THAT PART IS STUCK AND EVERYTHING'S MOVING AROUND IT. It will not come back up without tearing and being scraped off and cleaned back to base. I suggest only removing a small corner or edge of the protective backing for each piece you're placing, lining it up very carefully before making any contact, and then smoothing it all down. I am talking you make the slightest brush against the surface would be adhesive backing and it's done for. If you do get a bubble you can poke a small hole through the foam, and just squeeze the air out from behind the panel that way. Since I was using this to insulate a wooden door I covered the door with that easier to remove adhesive vinyl that some people use for book covers and such first to protect the wood. Because this stuff is a pain to get back off.
