Amazon Basics Comb Binding Machine, Grey

Just what i needed for a few projects i had, easy to use and simple to set up . Only minor adjustments to make it work perfectly . Well worth the money as good as one twice the price in my opinion

I 'm disabled and having a lot of issues with my right arm at the moment. So I expected to need help assembling and using - but I managed. The comb-binder has a handy carry handle cutout that makes it easy to store and place for use. I had no problems attaching the handle, and practised on a bit of scrap paper first. Getting it to cut through the plastic cover was hard but doable. My printing paper is 80gsm rather than 70, so I bore this in mind and didn't try to max out at 12 sheets - in fact doing 4 or 5 at a time took so little time, and they lined up so beautifully with the guide, that it was all done inside 2 minutes. Actually binding the document was another matter. I bought a range of spines in different sizes, and found the estimates given way off (but I've left a separate review about that). I'd watched the video on Amazon so knew how to do it, but the reality was somewhat different from the well-rehearsed video. For a start, obviously the smaller the spine, the less it will open. Judging how far to open each spine wasn't a problem in and of itself; but actually hooking the paper onto the spine was a totally different matter. The hooks simply aren't big enough to make it the one fluid motion the video suggests. Not only that, but while the paper would slide straight on at one end, it had to be physically manoeuvered in place at the other, because the hooks "slope", if that makes sense. So actually loading the paper onto the spines was a series of hook a few holes, close the handle a smidge, hook the next few holes, close the handle a smidge, and so on. Overall, I'm giving 4 stars because I was able to use it unaided and with minimal swearing. And it's cheap compared to the next cheapest model. For the very light use I anticipate it having, it does what I need it to but maybe next time I'll do some yoga and mindfulness in preparation for the fiddly bits trying my patience!

You get what you pay for... Seems value for money so far. Does the job as it should very well... How long for?

Sturdy but fiddly. Look up how to use it on YouTube, it's not intuitive if you've never used it before. The Amazon basics strips I bought separately as A4 are useless, the binder punches out 21 holes. The strips only had 19 rings. So get A4 21 holes and 21 rings. You CAN use the 19 ring binders for A5 and letter size on this machine though. I made a fab A5 planner/diary to my specification adapted from a free online template. Costs: £1.04 for 13 pages at 8p/sheet in ink, 1 laminating pouch 10p, 1 binding strip 6p, but of free/leftover wallpaper, name sticker 10p. So total £1.40 total. Plus 30 mins labour. This has kept me busy for hours and can be used by student child. I have no idea how compares to others but is solid and seems well made. I think I just need practice. Hope this helps.

Very poor quality. The handle will shear in no time as it is very poor metal and the knob holding it un-does at each use meaning it slips and is SO BAD! The instructions are totally useless too. I have had a binding machine before but this one is not good quality at all and would break within weeks of use.

The holes are punched cleanly however because the handle is on one end, it tends to tip the unit to the right, unless steadied with the left hand. The comb opening mechanism is marginal at best; but with patience can be used successfully. the comb's teeth are not secured well onto the teeth of the 'stretcher', and the single handle does not ensure consistent opening across the comb. I would not recommend this binder and will buy a more expensive unit with twin handles, when either it wears out or I throw it in the bin - whichever happens first..

Brilliant machine highly recommend

Got this for occasional use and for that it's OK. It will cut up to 8 sheets of standard paper, or one sheet of 300 gsm card, or one clear plastic cover. With a bit of practise it's quite easy to set up and do the cutting, but it's not very robust; the whole machine twists as the cut is applied and I find it best to hold down the left hand side of the machine with my left hand as I apply the cutting lever with my right. And assembling the cut sheets in the combs is a bit fiddly due to the shape of the machine, there's no flat area to lay the sheets on. Overall I'm happy with it for the few times I'll want to use it. But for frequent use I'd look elsewhere.

Das Bindesystem ist wie beschrieben. Es ist schwer und steht daher auch gut und sicher. Es stanzt die Löcher gut. Die Bindung funktioniert ebenfalls wie gewollt. Man sollte kein professionelle Bindegerät damit vergleichen. Ich habe den Vergleich und ich bin erstaunt wie gut doch dieses Modell funktioniert - für den Preis ! Ich bin mit meinem Kauf sehr zufrieden, da ich es nur ab und zu brauche reicht mir das !

Máquina súper útil para encuadernaciones caseras. No ocupa apenas espacio. No pesa mucho. Taladra sin problema tanto el papel, como las tapas de plástico (delanteras transparentes y traseras negras). La recomiendo sin lugar a dudas.

Buen producto dude por el precio pero estoy completamente satisfecho superó mis expectativas

Efficace et robuste. Les basics chez Amazon sont une valeur sûre et le rapport qualité prix est imbattable. J’utilise cette relieuse fréquemment pour le boulot et il n’y a rien à redire hormis éventuellement son encombrement

I'm not happy on this items.. All screw loosen 1st upto to 20 pages totally wasted.. After Tighten the screws it is working fine....
