Pro: Sprouted Organic Flaxseed Powder has long been a staple for me as a daily breakfast starter. It has a lot of good nutrition that is made more bio-available because it has already been sprouted, which breaks seeds and nuts resistance that our human body has difficulty absorbing as it passes through our digestive system. I like the simplicity of just mixing it up with water, as is, with whatever fruit I have on hand and my favorite decaf coffee. It keeps things moving along quite nicely. Haha It's a good value even though it's shipped all the way from Canada now. It used to be available from a family that grew it here in America, but they sold it off and stopped making it. I'm glad that Canada is still growing it. We all benefit from more fiber, but you get far more value for your money when it is sprouted. The taste is nutty, but because it's a fine powder grain it is easy to add cool water or juice to mix it up in a small 1 cup bowl. I use 2 TBSP of this powder and add about 6 TBSP of liquid. I also add fresh fruit diced into it like blueberries, strawberries, or banana. After it sits a few minutes you will notice it thickens as it absorbs the liquid. It's a lot like oatmeal, but you don't cook it because heat will destroy the nutrients in organic flaxseed and it also gets rather gel like with very hot water, which is another reason why I don't recommend it in baking cookies or breads. Ideas: You can also use it in a blender if you like smoothies, and many folks add yogurt or chopped fruit and the peels for added benefits and even more fiber. It's quite refreshing on warm days! I mix organic cacao and organic Ceylon cinnamon (1/4 cup each) into a large container, seal it with the lid, and then shake it back and forth like a paint can mixer until the color has evened out to a soft brown. It's great with fresh bits of fruit. This is my recipe, but you're welcome to try it yourself. Enjoy! Con: Being a fine grain powder, ANY resealable bag tends to collect powder in it and that's why I empty the entire bag into an airtight glass container or one of those airtight lock and lock type containers. It's so much easier to use it on a daily basis and stays fresh. Unopened, the 8 oz. bag Best By Date is over a year and a half on the one I received.

I love this “powder” better than just ground flax seed. It is smooth in recipes. I keep it in the refrigerator so it doesn’t get rancid.

I usually enjoy this everyday in a smoothie, or oatmeal. Also, I’ve called the company before to find out more about their product and they got back to me that same day. If the phone receptionist doesn’t already know the answer they will call you back later with an answer.
