Wife LOVES This Thing
First thing I ever bought her since the wedding ring that she absolutely loves - and she picked out tha ring. Very easy to operate and much easier to use than normal board due to heat resistant cove on shelf to place iron in between garment adjusting (leaves board free to manage garment) - AND separate heat resistant cove to store iron even while HOT. You just place it in the cove - close the door and the timer shuts off the iron automatically (if you forget) while preventing fire. Iron also stays plugged into its power system so all you do is twist the timer dial on to whatever time you need to iron (up to 1 hour) and it stays powered until auto-shutoff. Safety is one of the BIG selling points for this. There's a shelf space for the starch can or spray bottle too. The board also swivels 180 degrees left or right and locks into 4 different angles for ironing. I installed it inset into the wall between studs and ran direct wiring to it but it can also be flush mount installed

Think twice before purchasing…
Nice product, but save your money! This is nothing but an almost $600 wooden box with an ironing board in it, which any carpenter could make. I thought it was all metal, but it’s not—crazy! The unit came brand new in the box, yet there are scratches on all the metal already. I will be requesting a replacement. The iron shelf is nothing more than a piece of wood with a stapled piece of sheet metal used as a heat shield. All in all, if I weren’t pressed for time and didn’t need to get this room done ASAP, I would return it. *** update*** New parts were supposed to be sent out by the manufacturer almost 3 weeks later they have not been sent out. I spoke with Amazon customer service and they were no help in resolving nor coming to a resolution. Buyer be ware!

Art and function
I received some snarky comments from people when I told them we bought a built-in ironing board. (It was my husband’s idea.😊). Why, they ask. No more dragging out our ironing board, storing it (out of sight preferably), the loud noise when opening it up and storing the hot iron. This is really great because it takes care of everything I listed. I no longer have to set out the hot iron out to cool down. My husband cut into the wall so it wouldn’t stick out as much. We also put wallpaper and trim on the door so it would look like a piece of artwork for aesthetics. I think it was a great purchase.

Well built - Quality Product
After using the same folding ironing board for what seems like a hundred years, the person who does occasional ironing loves her new set up. Although a little heavy, it was easy to install on a concrete block wall in a dry basement (no stud walls to do a recessed install). Very compact yet large enough for most ironing jobs.

Poorly built
This product is very poor. I had to totally disassemble, drill all new holes in proper locations to get it to open an close properly. Company must have bad quality inspection. It should have never made it out of factory. I would not recommend it for this cost.

Warped door
Since my kitchen and laundry room were being demolished for a remodeling, I had the crew build a perfect 2x4 frame to hold this built-in ironing board. Once the assembly was placed and secured, I noticed the door would not close flush with the frame. No amount of adjusting either the catch or the pawl could get the door to close flat. The prospect of returning it is unlikely, as this thing is heavy and awkward. Trying to remove it and re-box it is not a practical option. It’s just easier to keep it, even though I’m unhappy with the warped door.

Light shattered
I like that its all assembled. What I dislike , Surface mount doesn't look to be very strong. Light bulb was shattered!
