Zebra Pen PM-701: A Stylish and Smooth Upgrade from Sharpies
The Zebra Pen PM-701 is an absolute game-changer for anyone who appreciates the reliability and boldness of a Sharpie marker but desires a more stylish and smoother writing experience. This pen has quickly become one of my all-time favorites, and I can't help but sing its praises. **Elegantly Stylish Design (5/5):** Right off the bat, the PM-701 impresses with its elegant design. It's a sleek and sophisticated pen, boasting a professional appearance that sets it apart from the typical markers you might find. Its metal barrel exudes quality and durability. **Silky Smooth Ink (5/5):** The ink in the PM-701 is a dream to write with. It glides effortlessly across the paper, creating clean and consistent lines with every stroke. The smooth ink flow makes writing or drawing a truly pleasurable experience. **Versatile Boldness (5/5):** If you're used to the bold lines of a Sharpie marker, you won't be disappointed with the PM-701. It delivers the same bold and impactful lines but with more control and precision, making it ideal for both fine details and broader strokes. **Durable and Long-Lasting (5/5):** The construction of the PM-701 is impressively durable. It feels substantial in hand, and I've found it can withstand the rigors of daily use. The longevity of this pen is notable, and it doesn't run out of ink as quickly as some other markers or pens. **Eco-Friendly Refillable Design (5/5):** I appreciate that the PM-701 is refillable, reducing waste and contributing to a more sustainable choice. It's a feature that not only benefits the environment but also saves money in the long run.

Bold, smooth felt tip w metal barrel at moderate price
This pen is a smooth writing felt tip that gives an extra wide, bold flair to your writing edge while still providing a precise tip for thinner bold lines (0.7-1.0). It provides a very flexible stroke to express a noticeable signature or tight note taking. It’s not a cheap pen but the metal barrel makes it feel finer than a plastic Sharpie compares favorably to the metal Sharpie in performance . However, this unit includes a refill cartridge for almost the same price as the metal Sharpie which does not include a refill cartridge. The ink doesn’t bleed through on my 120 gsm Leuchtrum 1917 journal pages.

My Zebra
Got this marker on a whim due to good reviews and liking how sleek the barrel was. Am barista. I write/doodle on 100s of disposable plastic/paper cups a day. I leave this marker open for on average 5+ hours almost every day, give or take. It scares my co-workers who see it uncapped on the counter. First off- it looks awesome. Makes me feel kinda cool, and I like the weight in my hands. The ink dries fast after writing and does not smear/smudge (even on plastic cups!). The writing is bold with no feathering or bleeding, and the pen is smooth as butter to write with. I feel it is hard to find markers that have smooth/silky writing whilst also not bleeding/smearing from being too "inky". I've written on cups with condensation, which has killed Sharpies (or at least temporarily disabled them). The Zebra PM-701 does not do that. I (or my co-workers) have (accidently) dropped this marker on its tip a few times. It blunts the tip and makes it write "bolder" but still works very well. It is an absolute beast. It is a bit thicker than standard Sharpie size, so not the finest tipped pen, but not chiseled/overly bold. If you're scared it will work great for a few days/uses then dry up, or have a blunt awkward tip: don't be. Before I got this marker (remember, I got it on a whim and did not do much research), I thought it would be more like a fountain pen refill (stab the ink well and have it flood the tip). It is super easy to change- just unscrew the old cartridge from the barrel, and put a new one in! Each of the cartridges for these markers has lasted me over a month of constant usage. Keep in mind that's hundreds of hours being uncapped, writing on thousands of cups. Even when I change it, it is not completely "dead" how a Sharpie dries out. Rather it becomes streaky and requires more effort to write. I am sure there is probably a way to extend the lifespan, but I do not know how. Sharpies are very expensive, and I bought this pen on a whim to mitigate having to spend so much on them. It has done wonders for my wallet. If I had to take off a star for ANY reason, it would be that Amazon does not sell the refills at a fair price. I order them off JetPens in bulk for much cheaper ($6.15 vs. $3.33). Only caveat is the shipping costs/arrival times of the two sellers, if that is relevant to you (ex: JetPens vs. Prime vs. regular Amazon shipping costs) This is not really a fault of the product itself though, just something to keep in mind when getting this marker- you always want to keep a backup. I have not found it in-person stores, so refills are not as universal as buying new sharpies. I am addicted to this piece of stationary. Forced most of my co-workers to get this pen.

Great everyday marker
Zebra is really winning me over with their products. This marker is great, I love that I can refill it, I just wish there were more colors and tip sizes. From what I can tell, there's only one tip size, the bullet tip, and I'd like to see a broad or chisel tip for more variety. A far as colors go, black is easy to come by, blue cost more than the marker and a spare refill combined(how?), and red supposedly exists, but everywhere I look, it's out of stock. Great otherwise, let's just work on availability.

Way better than a sharpie!
I LOVE this marker! I’m a barista at a large corporate coffee chain and am required to write messages on cups. This is so much better than a sharpie (with the exception that it’s not retractable). The ink is nice and black, doesn’t dry out if I don’t cap it for a couple hours, and the tip hasn’t dulled after a few weeks of use! Highly recommend!

Need to sign skin with a marker? Look no further.
Perfect writing on bathroom walls. A smooth flow on the walls and functions well even after being left in my car all summer. Love the durable metal casing.

Opened it and it is bone dry!! What a waste of money. Both the bottoms on the cartridges are broken and dried out.

Junk. Arrived dried up, no ink in cartridge. Can’t return either. Don’t waste your money.
