I could still sip water at the top of Kilimanjaro!
I heard it would be cold at the top of Kilimanjaro (19,341'), and it was. Hail, snow, whipping wind, and below freezing. But my Gregory camel pack with the insulated hose kept the water coming. I'll keep it on year-round. I suspect it will help keep the water cool in the summer.

Broke while installing
Quick connect broke while installing. Gregory needs to refine this product a bit.

Works as intended
I've taken this hose out for 3+ hr hikes in 20-30 degree F temps and it hasn't frozen on me. I do tend to blow back air through the hose to help prevent freezing, but when I forget this keeps my water line from locking up on me.

Worthless, the quick disconnect is not insulated and WILL freeze
As another review stated, it's worthless. In my experience the hose insulation is acceptable, but the fatal flaw is the quick disconnect which is just plastic and froze within an hour in 19 degree weather. Really deadly to have such a critical failure with an hour hike back and no water! This should be 1 single length of tube, if the bite valve freezes I can take it off. But freezing half way in the tube is unacceptable.

No good
insulation is useless and it should also have an insulated cap for the bite valve. Dont waste your money! Does not keep water from freezing. poorly designed.
