My old incandescent flashlights work better than ever.
I couldn't happier with these LED bulbs. I used then to upgrade my two "vintage' Garrity flashlights. My flashlights are now brighter than I thought possible, with a nicely focused beam. What makes these upgrade bulbs work so well is the placement of LED high up in the clear plastic bulb, in the same position as the the old incandescent filaments used to be. So, the light from the LED hits the reflector where it was designed to work. I'm impressed.

Nice, Bright Replacement Bulb for Two AA Flashlights
Really pleased with these bulbs. I got 3 (having not seen that I could have gotten 5 for just a dollar more). Anyway, all three work and have a similar pattern - nothing out of focus or dark in the center, etc.It has a whiter light than the original incandescent bulb which is what I expected. I'm not sure how well I captured things in the attached photo's - it is just plain hard to take a good picture of lights. One is a side by side comparison - I have two of these old two AA battery flashlights. The original bulb is on the left, this new LED bulb is on the right. You can see how much whiter the light is with this bulb - both on the wall and looking at the flashlight itself. The other two show the old and the new shining on a wall. Similar pattern with the distinct outer ring and the brighter inner area.Really pleased with these LED replacement bulbs. They should last forever really, they should be easier on batteries, and I *think* they will take the impact of a fall better should you happen to drop the flashlight.

MX-991/U Compatible
Works to replace the old bulbs used for the old US Military Flashlights. Not very bright though, so it's better for low light needs.

Great replacement for 2-cell flashlight bulbs
I purchased these for a pair of old flashlights. They fit perfectly, are much brighter, and I'm sure will last much longer.

Not worth buying.
Purchased a 2 pack, first bulb one flickers all the time or flickers then shuts off. Second bulb turns on bright then about 2 seconds after turning it on goes dim. I tried both in 2 different flashlights, 1 eveready, 1 rayovac. New Duracell batteries in both flashlights. Same thing happened with both flashlights. Would not recomend them.

Bright, low current drain.
The bulb is bright. A slightly bluish light. I have not performed a luminosity test to compare to an incandescent bulb, but brightness appears to be comparable. The current draw is approximately 20% of the incandescent bulb. at 3VDC this bulb draws approximately 110mA whereas the incandescent draws approximately 530mA. This will result is a significant improvement in battery life.

Work very well so far!
See my pics, the whiter light is the LED replacement, and the browner light is the original. So, I would say its brighter per se, but it is more the color of the light itself that makes the difference. The original bulb has a warmer yellow brown tinge, would work in a situation where you need some light but dont want to give away your location so easily. The LED is a bright white spot. The install was easy, although the second bulb I replaced didn't work at first and I had to figure out what was wrong. It worked eventually though. I am using two Olive Drab Military GI Style C-Cell Anglehead Flashlights from Rothco. I will be using these in cave exploring and flood damage work in the rain. So, let's see if the hold up and I will update the longevity score in a year or so.

LED replacement flashlight bulbs- worth it?
I ordered these replacement bulbs thinking, like LED replacements for home lighting, they would be far brighter, take less energy to operate (thereby extending battery life), and last much longer than their incandescent predecessors. Ordering was easy, delivery was fast, and the bulbs readily replaced those in my battery flashlights. However, they proved to be no brighter or throw a larger swath of light than the bulbs I was replacing, so I returned them (which, thankfully, was also fast and easy). I cannot speak with any knowledge to longevity or how these may allow batteries to last longer, since they were only in use for a few minutes.Seller should show comparative pictures of the same flashlight with an incandescent and LED bulb to highlight any difference a buyer can expect.A better choice is to look for inexpensive tactical LED flashlights, like the ones I ultimately purchased from a local hardware store (initials HF). They give off WAY more light than my old incandescent flashlights, are a more compact form factor, and include a handy 'zoom' feature which allows the user to concentrate light into a narrower or wider beam as needed.I would buy from this seller again, but not these bulbs.
