Final Fantasy VIII Remastered (PS4)

I bought the original FFVIII on PS2 25 years ago. I played it for a while then for reasons I can't remember, I stopped playing it and have graduated to a PS4. I didn't know this game was available on PS4 until recently, and it was not that expensive so I decided to pick it up. The graphics look dated tbh and the gameplay is a bit clunky compared to modern games, but what this does offer is the incredible journey of a young mercenary, Squall, and his friends (and his love interest) as they fight to protect their world from evil forces. Fantastic story with characters that you come to love. And nostalgic value too! Highly recommended.

The most underrated final fantasy. Now in a less pixilated format.

A remaster of a PS1 classic, very glad there is a physical copy for this game! The character models and graphics for the game have been updated, but the core gameplay andusoc have remained the same (which I'm glad about!) There are active "cheats" in the game which help speed things along as sometimes these older games can drag on. You can turn off random encounter, speed up the game (x3 I think?) and have unlimited health/limit break to make battles easier. However I'm just glad to be able to replay this game on current gen consoles.

Love the Final Fantasy Series and this game is just one of the classics that are timeless. The slightly revamped graphics, you are able to step into the world of the Gardens again and journey with Squall in this adventure. Purchased the digital copy but wanted a physical copy in case something ever happened to the console or hard drive.

Being someone who prefers physical games to digital ones and a Final Fantasy fan I had to grab a copy of this on disc. It's only 4gb of space which is amazing bearly takes up much space on your console. Despite its age the game still looks great visually and plays really well. As with every Final Fantasy game in the franchise this one introduces a whole new world/setting, characters with a sprinkle of familiar elements from previous games that fans of the series will love. If you're new to the series and want to play one of the earlier games this is a good place to start along with FF VII (original game). You don't need to have any knowledge of the franchise.
