Q: Can you set it to lock automatically every time you close the door?

I don't think so, you have to lock it by hand and then close the door, I could be wrong though

The box say it fits doors 35 mm (1-3/8" ) to 45mm (1-3/4 ") thick. Adjustable latch fits 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" backset.

It can be install either way u can also if lock u can use a screwdriver or knife to unlock no key is needed

It is not a push button, it has a lever that you turn to lock the door.
