This is perhaps my favourite character from the Madalorian, very well played by Nick Nolte, itās a shame but good story telling that he wonāt appear in later episodes. Despite having doubts about Hasbro releasing ever more lines of Star Wars toys and fragmenting away from my beloved 3.75ā Vintage Collection figures, I quite like the like the Retro figures line. Itās just amazing and exciting that after 40 years Iām able to pick up āofficialā new figures in the old 1980ās style to add to my collection. This obviously started with the packed-in Grand Moff Tarkin figure in 2019.However the whole new range of Mandalorian figures is a delight. Kuiil is no exception, his limited amount of colours and articulation fits him perfectly in the vintage line. The Kuiil figure is of the same heigth as as the vintage ESB Ugnaugth but smaller than for example the 2008/2009 Legacy Collection Ugnaugths. The figureās paint detail is limited with the flesh is just the colour of the plastic and the eyes, like most figure in this range just a tiny black curve with a dot underneath. Nevertheless that works well and it is as if the figure was released for the toy market 4 decades ago. Kuiil stands well on his own and can hold his midsized shotgun neatly. Iām less enthused by the aged appearance of the packaging, the printed white cracks and damage should be swapped with a clean/pristine cardback, but then again, Iāve always ripped my figures straight from the packaging. anyway.Iām still eagerly waiting for the Vintage Collection Kuiil that will be releasedearly next year, but this is a nice friendly-priced substitute for now (given where toy and material prices have gone since). All in all, I love the figure, love the Retro line and Kuiil is perhaps the coolest of the new Mandalorian set of figures. It would be nice to slip a Blurrg in there as well (with trap door to hold Kuiil and Mando) or some other micro vehicles like a speeder. Also I am starting to hope we will see more Retro figures from Roque One, Solo and even the prequel / sequel trilogies or the Bad batch.
