Steel to first time Aluminum Jack
I did a ton of research to determine which low profile floor jack to buy. I had been using a big and heavy steel floor jack for years and finally bought this one. I had tried some of my friends Aluminum floor jacks that advertise that it only takes a few pumps to lift the car to full height. Have you tried these jacks? I have and they take a ton of weight to push town on the handle to lift the car. I'm not a NASCAR pit crew that is jumping on the handle and worried about 10 pumps or 3 pumps to full lift. I wanted the hydraulic advantage of my old steel jack, a lighter jack, and one that is truly low profile for my 350Z. On my steel jack, the hydraulic advantage is so good I can jack up my car with only one half of the handle in the jack. (by the way, it's over 34 years old on the original oil and still going strong!) My garage is pretty tight so it is really helpful to use only one half of the handle when jacking up the car. So, this jack is really impressive. The pictures don't do it justice on how well made it is. They really need to add more super high resolution photo's. The video helps a lot to see how well built this jack is. It has a great hydraulic advantage so you do not need to put your full body weight on the handle to jack the car up. I only use one half of the handle when jacking my car up in my cramped garage space on the sides. I can easily jack the car up with no issues. It's low enough profile for my 350Z that is very low to the ground. On my steel jack, I had removed the cast iron jacking cup/plate in order to get it low enough for my 350Z. This jack easily fits under my car as-is. It does not jack your car up in 3 pumps with you jumping on the handle with all of your weight and that is not what I wanted to buy. The hydraulic release works great and it easily lowers the car in a very controlled manner. My only constructive comment is that this jack is so well made that it is not very light. I was really struggling with deciding if I wanted a 3 ton, 2 ton, or 1.5 ton jack. I wanted to take it to the track and was hoping it would be pretty light weight. I never weighed my old steel jack but all I can say is this jack is not obviously a lot lighter than my old jack. This is a big, strong, and heavy duty jack so if you are looking for a super light weight jack that is really portable this is probably not it. I still love this jack but I'm now thinking about getting a much lighter Aluminum jack for the track weekends. Lastly, I know when I was debating this versus other jacks the warranty wasn't as good. I think ARCAN needs to improve their warranty to be more competitive. I read a lot of reviews on other websites and decided this was the jack for me even though the warranty wasn't as good. It looks like tons of folks are making lower cost Aluminum jacks that have problems after 1-2 years of use. I'm counting on it being built well enough that I don't need the warranty but it would be nice for ARCAN to back up the product with a better warranty.

Quality Build
Very nice floor jack. Light, rolls well over my semi-rough garage floor. Seems to have plenty of lifting power.

Its got nice curves and is robust, what more could you want?
After my old portable craftsman 3 ton jack fell over under my car and bent itself (and marred up the underside of my car) I decided it was time for something a little safer. I contemplated buying one of those harbor freight aluminum jacks but I figured if I'm going to spend the money I may as well get something a little nicer. Let me tell you, this is A LOT nicer than those jacks. My jack came in all silver with the Arcan logo on the side which I think looks awesome. The handle is nicely padded to protect the bumper, the rear casters have a large contact area with the ground so they move around easy. The only thing that is junk on this jack is the rubber pad on the plate, pretty much after your first use it will look pretty beat up, I am a little surprised its not more durable. Overall, the jack is light enough I can carry it around, lift my car very quickly and securely, the pads a piece of crap but it makes up for it by looking so darn sexy.

Big difference compare to the 1.5 ton jack I've had for a couple years
Since moving to our new house and having enough garage space to where I can work on my cars. I've been buying tools here and there and furnishing my garage slowly. This jack is my biggest purchase for a single tool so far and I'm very happy with it! I love working on my own vehicles and do the maintenance on them. Not only that I'm saving huge money doing the job myself, but I also learn along the way, and I know for the fact that the job was done properly! Since purchasing this jack, I have used it to change all the rotors and brake pads on my 2014 BMW 528i, change the rotors/pads & drums/shoe brakes of my 1999 Ford Ranger, change the brakes on my wife's 2014 Kia Soul and replace the starter on my 2007 Honda Civic Si. This really amazing and very easy to use! I love how you can disassemble the handle for security when you have your car lifted. It's a bit pricey but totally makes a huge difference when working on my cars!

I feel this Jack was worth every penny.
update after 18 months. this Jack has been used to lift a 1 ton van, several half ton trucks, a 5 ton box truck, a 20 yard solid steel dumpster and multiple passenger vehicles. I am still extremely happy with my purchase and I have never had a problem with it. this jack is replacing a three-year old 3 ton solid steel floor jack. The old Jack weighs 110 pounds this one weighs less than 60. Before I make a purchase I typically read most of the reviews for the item. After reading the reviews for this Jack I was not sure what to expect. I decided to go ahead and make the purchase and if I experienced any of the issues mentioned in other peoples reviews I would just return it. This jack arrived in perfect condition with absolutely no problems. The manufacturer applied grease to the inside of the neck where the handle attaches, to the roller areas where the handle rolls against the Pistons and to the pivot points for the handle. This jack looks great, feels extremely light and should last me many years. I also saw other reviewer‘s who mentioned they think the wheels are plastic and some others who mention they thought they were steel. The wheels on the jack I received are aluminum. The rubber pad on the top of the Jack is thin yet effective. I do not expect this pad to stay in brand new condition after jacking up multiple vehicles. I like the attention to detail the manufacturer put into this Jack. The handle is removable without tools, you can separate the two haves of the handle just by depressing a button, the handle has a protective rubber sleeve at the lower portion so you don’t damage your vehicle. Everything about this jack is great quality and I have been happy with my purchase. I saw some other people who mentioned having issues with bleeding this jack. I turned the handle to the left so the Jack would not build pressure as directed by the card that comes with the Jack. Pump it about 10 times then tighten the handle to the right. The Jack started pumping up immediately with no issues. I raised the Jack to its full height then lowered it all the way down again. I took a large flat head screw driver and open the fill port on the hydraulic cylinder to allow any extra air to escape. After tightening the cap back up I have had no problems and have not needed to bleed this Jack again.

Really great floor jack. Plan to have this for a lifetime of use. Very good gentle lowering capabilities.
Expensive....yes, but completely worth it. I had a few floor jacks over the years and they all worked okay . . .all still work but they had very little controllability on lowering, was about 1/2 turn of handle between relief valve off and on and vehicle would just drop very fast to the floor. ouch... The arcan is not like this at all. It has an extremely manageable and progressive lowering speed that you can stop at any point. I am extremely happy with this purchase. Quick detach of handle for transport, light and portable, rolls easily. etc. well thought out product. Wish it had slightly more powerful pump. It's not 'easy' to pump up as I had expected for a 3ton jack and was only lifting one side of a sedan that weighs ~4k lbs. so would think this would be simple since it's roughly 1/3rd of the max load capacity of the jack. But as I am not foreseeing lifting anything 3tons with it anytime too soon I am completely content with the purchase.

this sucker looks wayyyy better in person
For all you backyard mechanics who are skeptical, or too cheap to click "add to cart"... As a mechanic (10 years of experience) and new car owner, i was on the hunt for a jack that was quality and could lift my Kia Optima (3,500 lbs) with ease. I am damn proud to do my own oil changes and car maintenance, and don't rely on others to charge me an arm and a leg to do simple car maintenance. As the other reviews state, and I will also emphasize, this sucker looks wayyyy better in person. Lifted my 3,500 lbs car like it was a hot wheels toy car. Heavy, sturdy, and well built. This jack will last for years to come. I knew it was a pricier purchase but as a long term investment, it just made sense. QUALITY. Very proud of my purchase, as paying $150 every year for a random cheapo depot jack that leaks and stops lifting is something that does not make sense to me. Clearance is amazing - My Optima sits low, and this jack is low enough, it could sneak under a door crack. Done and done.

One encounter with water immediately after purchase: RUSTED HARDWARE on “aluminum” jack :(
I’ve deleted my 5 star review that I gave after it first arrived 1.5 years ago. My update: The steel parts on this “aluminum” jack rusted fast, highlighting the fact that this is not an all aluminum jack. It is a HYBRID jack. They do sell a hybrid for much less $, however I purchased the aluminum jack.. I only left it out in the rain one night, and I’ve kept it lubricated since. There’s important mechanical parts rusted, not just the visible bolts on the sides. To replace the most important rusting hardware parts, I’d have to order a whole new part, as seen in my diagram picture. Ordering new bolts, sure I don’t mind, but not what’s in my pic! Also, it works, but not as great as I thought it would for the money. It takes a million pumps to slowly get it up. Also I wish its maximum lift height was at least an inch higher. The front wheels aren’t placed well, and wiggle out of alignment. Rolls rough. I’m not sure if I was just unlucky with whoever assembled my Jack? Better to use on very smooth surfaces like a garage floor, not a paved driveway or road. It’s LOUD and rough rolling it, so I carry it down my driveway to my car. Overall, i’m disappointed with how much I spent on my first “aluminum” jack. I treated myself to this, and I won’t make much of my money back selling it, even with it stored in its box with all its papers, with only a few uses- as that one use in the rain had to immediately rust out the hardware. I liked my $100 3.5 ton steel craftsman jack much better, besides the weight. (Yet this “aluminum”jack isn’t too much lighter, really. Maybe 20 pounds lighter). My craftsman was rusty of course, but that’s to be expected. I suggest anyone seeking an all aluminum jack, to be sure that it’s not put together with plain steel parts. They should have at least used stainless steel, if not aluminum.
