What is the weight capacity of these brackets if used in a top mount configuration over the top of the shelf?

Everyone who is answering that they’re not sturdy has probably used the plastic anchors to screw into drywall. Drywall is paper guys. Of course your paper wall won’t hold much. These shelves are solid. This metal is not bending. The shelf may bend, that’s a shelf problem. Anchors may pull out of the wall. That’s an installation problem. But these brackets are solid. Look, if you spend the extra 5 minutes to find a stud and screw these to a stud they will hold a small horse. End of story.
