The names of the anatomical features are helpfully in bubble letters so you can color them in the same color as the pictured features and it helps you study. Many pages and incredible detail. Good luck in college all of you reading this and thank you for your commitment to healthcare! 🤞💀🫀 P.S. Purposegames.com also has many free anatomy study games that can also help you learn anatomy outside of a textbook Review: Great anatomy book that's informative & learning book - Great informative book on anatomy with coloring a benefit to understand "connections". It is especially good for someone, who is artistic or comprehends information through color or tactile learning. It would also be good for someone learning information in the medical field of education.

Stress relief plus education in one package
I am a part-time neuroscience nurse. I spend the bulk of my time managing our household and taking care of our five kids, who are homeschooled. My fifth grade son is learning about the human body in science class this year. I was hoping to use this book for myself to sharpen my skills as a nurse and a teacher, as well as serve for stress relief. I have been coloring about 1/2-1 page in the evening after the kids are in bed while my spouse watches the news. Moving at a slower pace makes it easier to do it neatly and take time to go over the descriptions and really absorb the information. I like the layout of the book, which walks you through the body in a logical way. The coloring notes are great because sometimes you don't know what they're getting at until you have colored half the picture, but then it makes sense why one thing was supposed to be a bold color while another part was grey. The pictures are well done and have great detail. On the page opposite each page of diagrams, there are descriptions of the functions and characteristics of the tissues/systems/etc. The human body is so complex! This is a great review and reminds me of why I got into nursing in the first place. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because the descriptions and the illustrations don't always match seamlessly, which makes it hard to follow at times. Sometimes a term used in the diagrams is not in the description. In particular, the page on cell division was difficult for me to decode. I feel like in order to clarify some of the descriptions I would have to drag out my old textbooks or go to Wiki. I was pleased with the quality of the book. A couple of times coloring has caused the black ink of the diagrams to smear a little, but the pages are sufficiently thick to prevent bleeding through and the majority of the time the ink on the pages is holding up. I have been using Prismacolor Scholars pencils, the 24-pack, for coloring (I used a 40% off coupon at Michael's). I tried using my kids' Crayola colored pencils first, but I found they didn't have good color laydown and I felt like I was digging hard just to get good coverage. Because the book requires so many colors on one page, I ended up purchasing the Prismacolor Premiere 24-pack on Amazon to supplement the Scholars. In terms of colored pencils, if you are willing to pay a little more for the Prismacolors, they are worth it. With these two packs, I anticipate having more than enough colors to distinguish the amazing complexity that is the human form. Overall, I feel this is a good buy for a review or even for learning it for the first time - although I don't think I had time for this when I was in nursing school! For visual learners, this type of supplement can't be beat.

Useful book with a lot of attention given to detail
I purchased this book to help me memorize the muscles for my muscle practical exam. I was very impressed when I started looking through the pages. The authors of this book have really paid attention to the details. Here are the PROS and CONS of this book to help give you a better idea of what to expect: PROS: - This book contains all of the muscles that I needed to study for my muscle practical exam. This is important because I also purchased another anatomy coloring book at the same time that I purchased this one, and that book was missing some of the muscles. - This book not only gives you the muscles to color, but it also helps you pay attention to the spelling of each muscle because it gives you the option to color the letters. Spelling is very important in the practical exams because we would lose points for spelling something incorrectly. - The illustrations are shaded with hatching lines and dots, and are shaded in a way that makes it easier to visualize the 3-dimensional structures that these drawings are meant to represent. - This book shows both deep and superficial muscles, and it shows them from different angles. - This book gives you visual examples of the muscles in action such as when a person is walking, lifting weights, riding a horse, etc. It also gives examples of how tight muscles affect flexibility and posture. I think it's amazing that the authors have chosen to include these examples because it makes it easier to memorize and understand the muscles, since it provides context. - Throughout the chapter, there are review pages that show you images of the muscles from different angles and ask you to write out their names. This is great because it allows you to test yourself on what you have learned. CONS - There is only one CON that I think this book has, but it's nothing major. My only criticism of this book is that the longer descriptions of the different anatomy terms are worded in a confusing way. They're basic terms that would be easy to understand if I read about them in an anatomy textbook, but I find that I have to read the descriptions more than once when I'm reading about them in this book. I don't consider this problematic though, because I already have my anatomy textbook to study from. The reason that most people buy anatomy coloring books isn't to read about anatomy, but instead to color the anatomy in order to memorize the material better. I think this book does an excellent job as an anatomy coloring book. I have attached some images of pages from this book that will help you get a better idea of what this book offers. I also included an image comparing a page from this book to a page from another anatomy coloring book that I purchased. The reason I'm including this image is because I read some reviews saying that the shading makes the illustrations look confusing, but I have to disagree with that. I think the shading is done nicely and I like that it's being used to enhance the 3-dimensional aspects of the anatomical parts that are being represented. It is much easier to understand because it doesn't look flat. In contrast, the other coloring book has cleaner lines because it doesn't have much hatching, but I think that's a drawback, since it makes the illustrations harder to understand. It might look fine aesthetically, but it's not very good as a learning tool, which is what this type of book is supposed to be. I think it's better when the illustrations contain thin hatching lines to represent the direction of the muscle fibers, while thicker lines are used to separate the muscles from one another. This is why I like the shading in this book, and I think it makes the illustrations clearer, instead of harder to understand. If you're going to buy an anatomy coloring book, I think this is a very good one to get. You can also take a look at the images that I have attached to see if this book is right for you.

Helpful way to learn
So far so good, it’s intimidating at first but reading the first few pages thoroughly helps. I’m actually learning easier this was bc you take your time learning and absorbing each part bc you take time to color it.

Great way to learn anatomy! This book provides a fun and entertaining way to learn human anatomy. Colouring in the anatomical pictures helped me to remember them better and made Anatomy fun and more familiar. As you colour, you can really focus on the anatomical structure you are working on, and so its easy to remember them. Strongly recommended for medical, Yoga, sport medicine students!

This is a fun interactive way to learn, especially if you are into those adult colouring books. It has a lot of knowledge about anatomy and personally I find it makes it easier to study when you are colouring it yourself

I think this is the best way of learning anatomy! The pictures are really accurate and well-explained. I love it. Honestly, the only disappointment about it is how the female reproductive system is reported, all in comparison to the male reproductive system (as if the female reproductive system was only to give birth and pleasure to men. Even if, biologically speaking, the "default sex" could be female-like, as it is primarily formed in the fetus). The description is clearly sexist and biased, shame on the writers. I know it is just a page of the book, but let's get real that this is offensive and just shouldn't be acceptable anymore. Besides that, it's a really fun and beautiful book!
