This is something that's surprisingly difficult to find: a well-made, attractive, heavy STONEWARE baking dish with a matching cover. It is beautifully crafted (yes, it's made in China—but remember that China essentially invented high-quality porcelain and glazed stoneware while Europe and the mid-East were still cooking in crude clay pots over smoky fires). The glaze on the piece I received is excellent and uniform. It is, in short, a terrific addition to my kitchen and table. It's also very attractive visually, with interesting lines and textures.One of the most compelling features is that it has a perfectly-fitted lid. While I haven't experimented with it much, I suspect the lid fits tightly enough to help with basting whatever is cooking inside the baker.Cleanup is a breeze. First time out of the box I managed to come close to burning some sauce onto the baker. I let it cool completely. Then I used a plastic scrubber and some warm water, and the potential problem washed away immediately. The whole thing went into the dishwasher and it looked brand new when it came out.I'd buy this thing again in a heartbeat, and, in fact, I ordered some more pieces in the same line.I hope you'll like yours as much as I like mine. This is CLASSY stoneware!! And, for some things, there's nothing better than stoneware for even cooking. I smell some lasagna around the corner...

It's beautiful and deep! It's hard to picture just how deep this casserole dish is in the pictures on Amazon, so I tried to demonstrate its depth with my hand in these pictures. My traditional casserole dishes just aren't deep enough for my lasagna. I'm excited to make it in this!It came packed very securely in Styrofoam, so no worries about breakage in shipping.

Very nice to cook with haven’t had any issues yet. I thought it would break when I first cooked in it based off some of the reviews

Oh this pan set is great!! I had an oval baker I've used for years. The last time I used it, it came out of the dishwasher in 2 pcs. It was 20yrs old.This new baker is even better. it cooks evenly & has a lid that helps to keep food stuffs warm.I'm so glad I ordered this, only wish I done it sooner!!

Much smaller than advertised. It is not a 13 X 9 pan, I’m very disappointed. My husband ordered it as a Christmas Gift, but it was late. All my packaging was thrown out, so I can’t return it. Don’t bother ordering this, unless you want something smaller than stated.

I just got my pan today, so I haven’t used it yet. It’s gorgeous, but the handle on the lid is on crooked. It just kind of bugs me that it’s not lined up right. I wouldn’t have expected that on a pan of this quality.
