Thank you for your question. Our gum base is composed of resins, waxes, fillers and elastomers, no plastics. The United States Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Title21, Section 172.615 lists the materials that are approved for use in gum base. There are many different types of gum bases. Exact components are unavailable as these are considered proprietary from our supplier. Xylichew is one of only a few gum brands using a gum base that is totally preservative free. We are a totally preservative free gum / gum base.

It doesn't say for certain if there is grapefruit in it. It says "natural fruit flavors", but it doesn't list which specific flavors. If you look at the picture of the fruits on the packaging, it looks like oranges and grapefruits. That makes it seem as if grapefruit might be in it. I don't know for certain, but if I were taking medication that said not to have grapefruit while taking, I wouldn't chew this gum. That's just my opinion. If you want to know for sure, maybe you can call the company that makes the gum. There's no contact info on the packaging, but it's made by "Nature's Stance Scottsdale, Arizona". I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.
