You may be surprised to discover that the director of the Lethal Weapon movies and scary horror flick The Omen, Richard Donner, also produced and directed this classic childrens adventure (which, by the way, was written by Donners screen-wizard friend Steven Spielberg). Then again you may not. The Goonies, like Donners other movies, is the same story of good versus evil. It has its share of bad guys (the Fratelli brothers and their villainous mother), reluctant-hero good guys (the Walsh bothers and their gang of friends), and lots of corny one-liners. Like in an old-fashioned Hardy Boys or Nancy Drew plot, the Goonies need to solve a problem: a corrupt corporate developer has bought out their neighbourhood and plans to flatten all their homes. Luckily, the beloved gang stumbles on a treasure map. In the hopes of finding the treasure to buy back their houses, the Goonies embark on their quest through underground passages, aboard pirate ships, and behind waterfalls. This swashbuckling and rollicking ride was also a great breeding ground for a couple of child actors who went on to enjoy numerous successes in adulthood: Sean Astin (Rudy, Encino Man) and Martha Plimpton (Pecker, 200 Cigarettes). --Samantha Allen Storey, desertcart.com Review: a great movie. - a brilliant movie from the 80s i love this movie so much i already have it on blu ray a great buy. Timeless classic
A timeless classic movie, for all the family to enjoy. Picture and sound quality were excellent for the UHD 4K version purchased, with a lovely steel case and separate holders for both discs included.

Some films date and others are just period pieces. This is a perfect 80s nostalgia adventure - like a slightly commedic stranger things! The kids are all great characters - maybe a little "template" - the fat one, the clever one etc but modern films are no better in this case! Effects are amazing - proper sets and

Nice looking steelbook
Not a lot to say about the movie itself as it needs no introduction... but the quality of the steelbook is lovely. Really slick, will take pride of place in my collection.

“I Goonies” è uno di quei film che non invecchiano mai. Questa edizione per il 30° anniversario in Blu-ray è perfetta per rivivere la magia: qualità video e audio nettamente superiori rispetto ai vecchi DVD, con colori più vivi e dettagli che non avevo mai notato prima. Il cofanetto è curato, con contenuti extra interessanti per i fan, compresi dietro le quinte e interviste che riportano subito agli anni ’80. È un pezzo che non può mancare nella collezione di chi ama il cinema di quegli anni o semplicemente vuole riscoprire un’avventura indimenticabile. Consigliatissimo sia per chi l’ha amato da bambino, sia per chi vuole mostrarlo alle nuove generazioni.

„Die Goonies“ ist einer dieser Filme, die man als Kind gefeiert hat und die auch Jahre später ihren Charme behalten. Die Mischung aus Abenteuer, Humor und Freundschaft funktioniert immer noch erstaunlich gut. Man merkt zwar das Alter des Films, aber genau das macht den Reiz aus. Die Blu-ray hat ein gutes Bild, der Ton ist sauber, und die Qualität reicht völlig, um den Film so zu genießen, wie er gedacht war. Wer mit 80er-Jahre-Filmen aufgewachsen ist, bekommt hier pure Nostalgie.
