Q: Hi. This says it's for people with a high arch. Why wouldn't it be right for a person with flat feet that is trying to improve their arches? Thanks.

You won't know til you try. I had been buying inserts supposedly for flat feet. I have extremely flat feet. My doctor sent me for physical therapy because of ankle pain. The therapist analyzed my gait and said I needed more arch support to correct my over pronation. I now use supports made for high arches and find I need the firm support. No more ankle pain.

I have a high arch and they give me the support I need, since I am on my feet all day long. I love them and will buy more for my other boots. Not sure if they will work for flat feet, but they really work for me.

Q: Do you need to remove your originial shoe insoles to use these?

Yes, I remove the soles that come with the shoes. I put them on top of new Sof Sole and trim with scissors for exact fit.

Q: Can I throw these through the washer? They are extremely smelly and dirty... baking soda isn't enough. They need a deep clean! Washer?

I've only hand washed these using Palmolive dishwashing detergent; but have had no problems doing that. I can't speak for putting them in the washer.
