Mulch cover worked well and fit great

This works great and very easy to install.

This is my second mulching cover. The first one failed after 5 years. These mulching covers all have a common point of failure: the connecting rubber cords that latch the cover to the deck. They dry out and eventually snap. I should have painted them or lathered some rubber preservatives on my first one I guess. The installation is a major pain. It is very hard to snap this onto the deck, even following the directions exactly to the letter. On top of that, you will probably scratch or peel the paint from your mower deck, especially if it is old and the paint is peeling already. The metal latches at the end of the cords will also scratch the paint if not installed correctly, and it is almost impossible to put them on without first removing them from the mulching cover cords first. After you remove them and attach them to the deck latches, then you reconnect the rubber cords by pulling them (hard) to the latches and threading the metal through the rubber hole. That said, this is a must have if you are mulching your cuttings on your mower. In fact, mulching is much better for the lawn than bagging - it is natural fertilizer for the lawn and you don't have to chuck out large plastic bags full of grass clippings every time you mow your lawn. Saves time, money, and garbage bags.

This for me mower perfectly and does a great job. For the price does a nice job of mulching the grass. And it was genuine John Deere item, even can in a JD box.

Fits perfectly, took 30 seconds to put it on. I wish all my purchases were like this one.

Item came fast and is of great quality. However, it does not fit on my JD x300 mower. The reviews saying this item does, are not correct.

The cover mostly serves its purpose - keeping grass in to allow the mulching blades to do their thing. But it is not a tight fit that stays in perfect place. I find that the cover tends to slip upwards and allows some grass cuttings to get under and out filling up the space at the bottom of the deck where the cover should sit. This creates a space allowing oven more grass to come out and evade the mulching process. It is possible that it is just a design flaw from John Deere, but is is still frustrating. I don't see any other way to secure the cover, so I'll just keep stopping periodically to reset the cover.

Came on time, fit is a little loose, however, it does the job well. I screwed the back did down tight to keep the top down tight. Thus only 4stars. One screw is a minor adjustment however it should fit tight on its own.

Like other reviews... works well but needs a couple holes drilled and zip ties so it actually seals

Mower (with brand new blades!) leaves streaks of uncut grass. Only tried it once. Took it off and put white back on and it cut perfect. Terrible product with brutal return policy. It costs more to return than I paid for it. The product doesn't work and now I'm stuck with it.
