Will the self stick stickers be okay on dorm walls? Are they removable without a trace?

They ripped the drywall on the house we're renting and left 4 huge holes in the wall that we now have to patch. Annoying. Nails would have made wayyyy more sense.

Will the self stick pads pull paint off of the wall when removed?

I used the ones from 3M and they are fine.

Is the installation easy enough? Does it need nails to hold it on the wall?

It comes with drywall screws, but I actually put the board on my wall using the medium sized 3M Command sticky strips (4 of them) and they have held for over 2 months without issue.

Can you hang this vertically instead?

You can hang it vertically as well and that would look great! I'd suggest with the cork side down so you can have items hanging over the bottom.
