Go-to value knife
This companion series knife is always a great value priced knife. I have a bad habit of losing my knives so these morakniv companions are perfect to take hunting as the cost is not high but the build and quality are excellent. The stainless steel version does hold it's edge well and it is easy enough to sharpen so I do not feel the need to buy the carbon steel version and worry about any rust. Perfect blade length and shape for a general hunting knife.

Just buy it! It's an incredible bargain and you'll keep it with you for a lifetime.
This is such an incredible value that you should push "buy it now", and only then finish reading this review. When I wrote this, Amazon had black for $13 and change, and it arrived in two days via Prime. This is the knife you should take camping and hiking. It will slice food, shave tinder for a fire, cut the wood for your emergency shelter and cut a lethal spear for hunting quite quickly, or a bow and arrow or fire drill with more work; hunt, slaughter humanely (with a cut that complies with Kosher or Halal), defend yourself with lethal force. It will hold an edge and you can sharpen it - although that won't be necessary very often. You won't have to oil it after every use like the carbon steel version, and you won't pull it out for your next trip only to find that it's rusted. This is 100% quality and value, and 0% presumption: Made in Sweden out of excellent stainless steel by an old company that's preserved its principles and defined this style of knife. It doesn't come with a fancy brand name and the designer's name at the start of the product name, like so many "designer" knives today. It's just a Mora-style knife made by Mora of Sweden, from Sandvik of Sweden's most well-rounded knife steel. It's made with modern manufacturing processes, isn't handmade and doesn't have the metalsmith's initials struck into it.So, are you willing to carry a second, heavy knife to pair with this one for batoning, prying apart a deer's hip joint, and breaking and entering if that's what it takes to survive? Lots of people pair the Mora with the Ka-Bar BK2, which is more expensive but still a bargain. But if you want to continue the theme of 100% quality and 0% presumption, consider the Sheffield of England-made Footprint Tools Hacking Knife. It's a 1/4 inch thick hunk of carbon steel with a wicked sharp edge, and the back of the blade deliberately left un-hardened and finished rough because it's meant to be struck with a hammer! Ugly as sin, astonishingly cheap with the leather sheath at $27 and change here on Amazon, and able to cut mild steel and lesser metals, brick, wood, PVC pipe, you name it.Want a third cutting instrument? The Laplander saw. Same principles and value, and will educate you about what you've been missing with lesser saws.

Great Beginner
I was going for the Garberg, but I decided to check this one out first.Fair quality blade, grip, and sheath for the price. The stainless steel looks clean and the edge is sharp.I'd say it's a good beginner bushcraft knife to try out first.

Amazing!
Really impressed with how sharp and durable this knife is right out of the box. It’s great for camping and basic outdoor tasks, super easy to handle. The grip feels sturdy even when wet. For the price, it's honestly hard to beat.

Put this knife to work!
I carry a Leatherman around with me all the time. I use it at home, work, and for camping. While it has performed well over the years, I wanted a knife that had a slightly bigger blade on it that I could use for some more robust tasks. With the exception of the Leatherman, I don't think I've ever bought a knife before. I have a lot of nice ones that were given to me as gifts over the years but the problem is....I don't like to use them! They are just too nice and expensive. For example, my wife bought me this really nice Benchmade pocket knife that has my initials engraved on the side of the blade. I love to look at it...but I'm not taking that camping to hack up some tinder for the fire. Anyway, I wanted an inexpensive knife that would be an all purpose workhorse for the tool table in the garage, the defender of the yard work chores, and the champion of the camping trip. After doing a little research, I eventually was brought to the Morakniv Companion. The reviews looked good and the price was unbelievable. I decided to take a chance on it and I am very glad I did. This is a great feeling knife and yes it is very sharp! Before I got to attached to it's "newness", I immediately put this thing to work out in the yard. I took some fallen tree limbs and began trimming them up to make some tomato stakes for the garden. Trimming them up and sharpening the ends to a point proved to be no problem for the knife. I used it assist in removing some of my vegetables from the plants and to cut some twine for another job. By the end of the day, I was cutting up and breaking down some cardboard boxes with it. The knife doesn't look as new anymore...but she still is plenty sharp! The knife feels good and the hard shell sheath does a great job of keeping it secure. The Morakniv is much more comfortable to use compared to my Leatherman and I prefer to use a knife like this for bigger tasks. I think having the combination of both my multi-tool and this particular knife will prove to be a winning combination around the house and for camping trips. It's well made and one that is not so expensive that I'm too scared to put it to work. I recommend.

Great for the $.
Good size and shape. Snaps securely into hard sheath. Holds an edge nicely. Not hard to sharpen. Great for camping, keeping in your vehicle. Seems like it would make a good hunting knife, if the sheath suits you for that purpose.
