Ortarco Egg Slicer for Boiled Eggs Strawberry Cutter with Stainless Steel Wire （Green）

This little egg slicer does a great job on eggs and strawberries. Not only does it make my egg salad prep very easy, but I was delighted I that it sliced my strawberries so well. I was making a charcuterie board and it occurred to me to try it out on some perfectly ripe strawberries. The strawberry slices were just as uniform as my egg slices (though I didn't put egg on the charcuterie board). This is a great little kitchen tool that is easy to use and the price is right. I use a bristle brush for cleaning which makes cleanup a breeze. I don't think I will put it in the dishwasher so as to maintain the sharpness of the wire cutters. Now I am wondering what other small foods it might work on!

Works great, better then more expensive choices

First of all, this is an egg slicer and not a strawberry slicer. Even though the listing shows strawberry slicer, the only way you could use it for that is if the strawberries are overripe. Even then it would bend the wires and break eventually. I know this because I tried it on a different slicer which was more expensive and sturdier than this one, and it broke shortly thereafter.As for slicing eggs, it works fine except for one thing. That is, it does not slice all the way through the egg. I have to kind of roll the egg for the very bottom part of it to be sliced through. It’s annoying, but for the cost it’s what you get.Another thing is that this slicer… Unlike many others… Is made to slice horizontally only. Many others have indentations for both horizontal and vertical, but not this one.This egg slicer like there is made in China and being sold by Chinese company on Amazon. At the current price of five bucks, is cheap enough because it also includes shipping for prime members. Even though I’m sure it cost well under a buck to make in China.
