DEWALT DW2701 #8 Drill Flip Drive Complete Unit, yellow

Recently, I was working on some home repairs. I looked in my rolling tool box, and tool bag for my Craftsman Speed-Lok quick flip. I found the blister pack, but no tool. I own 2 DeWalt 20v cordless drill kits and 1 cordless screwdriver. I checked all 3 bags. Nope. I figured I must've loaned it and never got it back. DeWalt has become a trusted name in my tool arsenal. I quickly ordered this as a replacement. Wow! This, and another DeWalt attachment have quickly become indispensable items in my toolkit. Quality sturdy construction from a trusted name means these won't be let outta my sight. Thank You DeWalt! You really really deliver! Highly Highly Recommend!

I picked up the DEWALT DW2701 #8 Drill Flip Drive and haven't looked back. It's incredibly sturdy and the flip drive is a real game-changer – makes swapping bits a breeze. It's compact enough to fit in tight spaces, and the yellow color is surprisingly easy to spot in my toolbox.

Good quialty

An actual time-saving device! Enables quick swap of countersink and screwdriver bits, especially handy for work that is already off the work bench [for me so far, this includes cabinet ledgers, shelf supports, door hinges, etc.]It comes with a custom DeWalt countersink bit [replaceable $7USD] and a short Phillips head screwdriver bit with a standard hex [replaceable $5USD a dozen]. They are holding up just fine, but I'd recommend not storing this tool with the countersink bit exposed, you could break it off.The quick release is a bit counter-intuitive, as it releases in the opposite direction that I thought it would.There is no ability to modify the maximum depth of the countersink bit, but I suppose you could buy a tiny collar for the countersink bit. I use masking tape, you do you.I bought version with a #10 countersink bit. I do not know if you can swap out with other sizes [#6 or #8 countersink bits], but it looks like there is room in the body of the for longer/thinner sizes.

Posiblemente es lo mejor que he comprado, sirve excelente, buenos materiales, muy buena imagen, excelente funcionalidad, ahorra un montón de tiempo, es increíble el tiempo y fatiga que ahorras con este producto, viene con su llave, puedes cambiar la broca y la punta si es necesario, no se afloja, es magnético, 10/10.Con el paso de los dias me doy cuenta que si bien facilita el trabajo no es del todo necesario, tomen en cuenta que es un producto que añade tamaño al taladro entonces si lo usan en espacios o para proyectos pequeños piensenlo bien. a mi me srive para las guias de los tornillos en melamina y posteriormente atornillarlos sin cambiar de puntas, pero en ciertos proyectos lo veo algo innecesario

This flip bit has been a disappointment on several levels. It is one of only a few options for a quick switch between pre-drill and driver bit. I bought it after a cheaper option failed thinking it would be an upgrade in quality and durability, but it has not lived up to that. I gave it quite a few chances over the course of a 2 month long project building sets for a theatrical production so this opinion is not a hasty one.The shaft is NOT compatible with quick connect on many drivers. It only works with a tighten-able chuck. Not a big issue but an initial let down, requiring me to keep both my drill and driver with me to have impact available for long screws.The drill bit is just too long for fast work - 1 1/2 inches. This length does have use but it requires more time and is very prone to breaking. My first bit lasted less than a day where I was moving quickly to finish a number of platforms and pre-drilling in pine.The pre-drill bit is unnecessarily complicated and often fell apart until I added thread locker to the set screws (3!) that hold it all together. It DOES allow you to swap out pre-drill bits, but you need to work with it to get that straight.Finally, the retaining cuff is very hit and miss. About half the time the bit can be easily pulled out without releasing it. This is a show stopper when every over pre-drill ends with a bit stuck in the work.I can't really recommend this item with any confidence.

Updating my review… Even though I’m outside my warranty, Dewalt customer service sent me a replacement that is not faulty and this one feels much more sturdy.4 Months later…..Changing from 3 to 1-star - The part that comes out and flips over has stopped locking in place. I have only used this twice and the fact that it broke already is a sign this was cheaply made. I have only used it on simple household things…. Nothing big. So if you plan to use this for commercial work then I’d look elsewhere.Recommendation - DO NOT BUY————Initial review below————-So this earns 3 out of 5 stars because lately I have been having issues with the drill bit or the screw driver bit falling out. The vibration using this causes the hex screws that hold the bits in place to loosen up which require tightening pretty frequently... The problem with this is there isn't a standard hex screwdriver in my particular hex set, so I have to keep the one that comes with this handy to tighten it up... I feel it's a missed opportunity to include the hex bit somewhere on this device with as bulky as it is. My thought was to hollow out the base (part that goes into the drill) and somehow include it there, but I don't know... Either way; there's room for improvement, but I do still recommend this because it's so much faster than changing the bits out the old school way.
