I planned on buying this for a two year old. Why is the recommended age 3 and up?

This is a question for the manufacturer, but maybe this will help: All toys with small parts are considered chocking hazards and, by law, are required to list the age as 3 or above. In this case the horses eyes are button-like rather than embroidered. Honestly, even the most determined child would have real trouble even getting a grip on the eye, let alone getting it out and chocking on it, but because it’s small and technically removable it must be listed as 3+.

No, this is a well-made stuffed animal that is not squishy or "cuddly" and should be taken care of. Very cute, adorable --- but not "cuddly." I bought this for my wife and she keeps it on a shelf in her office because we both love donkeys.
