Mellow tone
These picks are unique in tone. Softer and more mellow in tone than any standard guitar pick. They feel "soft" on the strings. No real attack which can be a good thing or bad depending on your playing style. For acoustic guitars, not very loud, good for accompaniment to vocals( think strummers). For electrics helps tame that shrill sound on electrics. Great for Jazz chops and rhythm playing my Gibson es-335. Martin Bluegrass guitar and Gibson mandolin you are better off with Jim Dunlap Primetone picks. That said they are long wearing, easy to hold, and fast on the strings. If smooth and mellow is what you want these are for you.

Best pick for jazz I have ever found
Superb picks. Nicely made, comfortable size to hold. I've tried dozens of picks searching for that warm, creamy jazz tone and these are the best - I am stunned at the difference over even the highly touted Gravity, V-picks etc. These completely tame the shrill high notes, warm and smooth across all 6 strings. They do seem to break in a little - for the better - after playing a few hours. If you want that fat, smooth, creamy jazz tone these are the way to go. I'm sold and will never look at another pick. I previously used Dunlop Jazztones, Ultex Sharp 2.0 (good picks, but nowhere near as nice a tone as these). These picks are more expensive than the Dunlops but still priced VERY reasonably compared to the boutique picks like Gravity, V-picks, John Pearse etc. I'll be stocking up since every time I find something I really like they either discontinue it or change the recipe for the worse.

Great picks
I now live in two houses that are in second cities. Smaller cities. We don’t have big guitar stores where you can go out and try a bunch of pics and get the ones you want . So I have ended up buying a lot of pics. I think these DeAndria line are great. This particular pic is fat and it results in a softer sound when youstrum. . I finally got to the point that I realize that a good set of strings and a good pic makes as much difference as the top wood of the guitar.

I can see why all the reviews are from jazz ...
I can see why all the reviews are from jazz guitarists, very smooth mellow sound with these picks, big contrast to tortex or standard celluloid picks, however I'm mostly a blues man and you just don't get the kind of bite you need with these. I'll keep them for Jazz though.

Life changingly good for jazz guitarists
I've been looking for a better pick than the jazz dunlop 111 for over ten years. I've spent too much money. Its so boring explaining why picks are important to people who don't believe it. The pick in the guitarists hand is like the sax players mouth (not like their mouthpiece). Maybe my technique is terrible (i play be-bop style jazz) but I spend most of my time when I'm playing trying to hold onto my pick - and getting upset because my guitar sometimes doesn't sound very nice (I'm trying to be as technical as possible here 'cause I know I'm addressing experts). This honest to goodness prince of picks solves both - totally fundamental - guitar problems at once. I feel about twenty five percent better at playing the guitar with this in my hand. And the guitar sounds about twice as 'nice' (sorry about these technicalities people, just concentrate and you might keep up). I've spent seventy and eighty dollars on a single pick. I've bought streams of picks at fifteen bucks each - trying out the different shapes and materials offered by the manufacturer. I've got the D'Andrea pro plec designed for jazzers on the way - its thicker (i hope) and smaller too - that might be even better. What a pick that would be - better than this!!! I would love to put the pick down and play more with my fingers but I just can't stand to give up the full strong sound I can get with a pick. This thing helps me articulate better and at the same time makes every note smoother and fuller - and its really easy to hold onto. If your playing a five hundred dollar guitar you would do about five times better (you'd improve your performance, that is) by changing to these picks than you would by spending five thousand dollars on a guitar. Of course if you're already playing a five thousand dollar guitar you're gonna find out what a twenty thousand dollar guitar ought to sound like. I'll be buying a bag a month for a while so I can't run out of them ever. To run out of these picks would be like a sax player waking up to discover that the only mouth he could find to play his sax with was a bad mouth that didn't work properly at all. Yes.

Mass produced picks with many perks
Sounds like a custom pick but priced at a level where you may not hate yourself for losing a couple. The 351-style 1.5mm gauge looks more like tortoise than a Fender XH and is great for single note lines as the material is firm, smooth, and glossy. Grip might be hard to maintain through extended rhythm chucking but the tone is clear and alive without being shrill, flappy, or dull. Serves both acoustic and electric well, I have used to satisfaction on fiddle songs.

Great picks. These have a great warm, thick sound. I like them for jazz and digging in on lead blues stuff. They're a subtle, but nice sonic color improvement over your typical Dunlop pickup, IMO. I have a hard time going back to those, now that I've enjoyed these. As usual with USPS, it took a couple/few weeks to arrive. But no customs fees or anything like that at least.

Great picks. Very firm. I got these specifically to use with a guitar I'm setting up as a jazz box.

If you have just started playing or have been playing for years, this is the best plectrum I have ever played and as you can see I have tried a few! Both the tone and playability are exceptional, I can play fast and tight but wirh a warm smooth tone, Gilmour plays an Andrea. There is no drag and you can use the side and surface interchangeably with ease. It really is the best plectrun I've ever played and Worth the money. You won't be disappointed.
