Buy Principles of Modern Radar: Basic principles (Volume 1) (Radar, Sonar and Navigation) Illustrated by Richards, Mark A., Scheer, James A., Holm, William A. (ISBN: 9781891121524) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Book arrived quickly and in good condition. As advertised. Very happy. Thanks for a good buy!!

After graduating with an BS in EE from Va-Tech, I managed to land a job involving radars. Coming in fresh, I decided to learn more about the subject at hand by investing some of my personal time on a book. I ran across this book after reading a fair amount of reviews. This particular book contains a lot of information involving radar operations. It seems some great minds went into creating this exceptional book - all of them from GTRI. Even with an undergraduate level of understanding, I am able to pick up on all of the material covered. I haven't picked up any other material involving antenna theory or RF theory either. The only downside to the book seems to be that there isn't any information involving most of the common scan types. It would have been great if I could've learned about Raster scans or Sector scans, for instance, without having to look elsewhere. Even so, I've managed to learn a great deal without starting a library yet and as such, I give this book five stars.

The book is not clean fom outer side, looks as it's used before, and the papers itself looks it exposed to moisture I am not satisfy with this book The contents is perfect , but the papers and covers not.

This is a first look at the concepts and theory of operation of modern radar systems. I got this book to supplement some of the classics by Skolnik, Barton, Blake, et. al., mostly because many of these, though still valuable in their own right, were written before modern techniques based on current hardware became prevalent. You will find all the basic concepts discussed here, though not at enough length to really design or build anything. Radar is a very extensive field, and the references listed at the end of each chapter provide plenty of additional understanding. There are entire books devoted to antenna design, transmitter architecture, receiver design, signal processing, clutter, arrays, etc. The level of mathematical rigor should be comprehensible to anyone with a technical, scientific, or engineering background. No single radar book has all the answers, but this is a good place to start.
