Out of the box this unit works great. It is easy to customize to your specific fishing conditions but really that is not needed, the auto default settings get the job done. The FishReveal feature that overlays the sonar onto the downscan is ingenious. You can see the fish arches at the same time you are viewing the structure they are hanging around. It came loaded with detailed lake maps, GPS, easy setting of waypoints and more. My favorite feature is your ability to set up custom pages combining sonar and downscan, or side view and a chart etc. The chart, sonar, down scan and sidescan are built in and also there but you can easily add five more custom pages. Finally, there are many free in depth online tutorials from real users, some on the water, for the setup, customization and getting most out of unit that make you proficient with the fishfinder before you even hit the water. I have had other fishfinders and was always frustrated with not seeing anything. The Lowrace Hook Reveal is amazing and a great deal for the price.
