Durable tape measure with a good cause
The Spec Ops Tools 25-foot tape measure is solid and feels military-grade. The 1" double-sided blade is easy to read, and the composite case is tough yet lightweight. The 25-foot length covers most jobs, and I like that 3% of proceeds go to veterans. A reliable and well-built tool for both professional and DIY use.

Much better than FatMax, Milwaukee, etc.
I have used every brand tape measure daily over the past 10+ years doing new construction. Most of the brands seemed to have good years and eventually decline into a cheaper quality, but still a $25 price tag. After using Fatmax for years and eventually switching to mostly Milwaukee, I finally got tired of throwing my money away and decided to try a tape that wasn't a big brand. The pros: I have used this tape daily foe 10 months now. The tape itself has not cracked or twisted unlike most other tapes around. The hook is large all around, but not too large where it can get in the way. A magnetic variety may be a good addition. I have dropped this tape uncountable times and even from several stories up. It continues to operate like new. The cons: The coating on the tape itself wears considerably. Especially on the bottom side. This makes it illegible. The coating still lasts longer than most brands though. My biggest complaint is the belt clip. My tape measure is on and off of my belt clip of my pouches many, many, many times a day. The phillips screw holding the clip to the tape measure holds up fine. The clip holds up fine. However, there is a small plastic lug molded into the body of the tape measure that is supposed to keep the clip in place. This plastic lug is the weakest part of the entire assembly. Within no time, the clip spins freely on the body. Overall, the tape measure is the best one I have found for daily construction use and abuse. The belt clip design is definitely frustrating, but I will live with that for the overall quality.

Highly Recommended Spec Ops 16' Tape Measure
The Spec Ops Tape Measure is a solid, well constructed tool, and it appears to be made to take a beating and keep on working. The blade has a positive lock up with zero slippage and the shock resistant tape measure case is equipped with a sturdy metal belt clip. Definitely recommended!

Durable
Great tape measure for the price. Holds the measurement and is durable. In my opinion better than most brands. Similar quality to Milwaukee without the price.

Durability
I’m a vet that recently just finished My 12 years of Army and now getting into construction and carpentry as my second skill and I came across Spec-Ops and saw their tools. Being a vet and seeing a company that is owned and operated by vets and donates to a cause that helps our military and first responders I decided that I would buy most of the hand tools from Spec Ops instead of the big name brand companies. So far I am happy with all of Spec Ops tools, they withstand the durability of my work requirements and just something about it being tactical just makes it that much more appealing to me. But recently I’ve had my first “oops” when I was installing siding about 15 feet off the ground on a scaffolding and my measuring tape fell and fell in a rapid spinning motion, as I watched my measuring tape fall and hit the ground I saw a piece break off. I didn’t have the measuring tape more than a month, I go and inspect it and the plastic piece that prevents the lip of the tape measure from going all the way inside broke off and I think also tho curved part that hooks on things also bent inwards a little. The measuring tape is still doing its job to measure but I think now it’s about an 8th off and gets stuck inside the measuring tape so I put it to the side for now till I figure out how to fix it. I did just order another 25 Foot and a 16 foot with the 96 foot and 24 foot level. Fingers crossed it comes more durable than the last. Before it fell, it was an amazing product and my co workers were jealous of me of seeing how well it was made and felt in operations. My recommendation is use a metal piece instead of a plastic piece or use a metal piece that is tuff box material coated so it can withstand the constant durability effectiveness of the measuring tape. Overall great work but it did not pass the 15 Foot drop. S

This tape is awesome. I am a flooring installer and I use this tape all day everyday. I have owned many different tapes, all the big brands, and this one by far is the best. I've had it for over 6 months now and still works great, retracts fine, is not vent, it's very durable. I usually go through tapes every couple of months but this is still going strong

One inch wide scale. One sixteenth inch minimum interval. Scale on both sides. Counts up in inches. Foot intervals labelled in feet, above one foot there are secondary markings showing how many inches you are into the new foot (not feet and inches). Multiples of sixteen inches are highlighted to keep the binary theme going, maybe useful for plasterboard studs. Only fully imperial (or US) modern tape measure have seen in the U.K. Useful for carpentry etc where raw materials from hardware shop are in millimetres but work out to round number of feet or inch fractions. Ideal companion to a millimetre only tape if you want to keep systems separate, ensure readability and be able to read same system both sides. Now U.K. is more exposed to non-EU suppliers imperial / US measured items seem more prevalent, so this tape measure is a handy tool for dealing with all that.
