Absolute Beginner's Guide to Minecraft Mods Programming 2nd Edition

My 12 year old devoured this book and has already written his first mod (longhand on paper) just 2 weeks after Christmas. Now he only needs a computer powerful enough to run it on. (Be forewarned, your home computer might not be enough for programming mods - my computer programmer husband explained this to me.)

Easy to understand. I'm using the book to teach my kids (8 & 10) java programming with the "excuse" that we are learning to make Minecraft mods.

I tried to follow directions which did not work so I sent it back

The book was great with all the help they gave but in 1chapter (so far) there has been a error. (I blame it on mojang for changing the launcher format...) All the rest was the best.

I have run into many hiccups with this book and there is no forum to ask questions. There's no way to contact the author. The website associatiated with the book looks like a child wrote it. There's so little to work with that if you don't know anyone who knows about networking it's not worth buying this book. If there was a forum to ask questions this book may be worth it
