How do you use this product? Do you mix it with something?

you can use it in anything you would put basil in, like soups, dips or just mixed with evoo and ground up pine nuts over pasta.

I have 5 unopened tubes in my refrigerator with a use by date of oct 2012, how do I know if it's ok to use? What do you recommend to use or to throw?

The Amore website says to use opened tubes after 45 days of refrigerator storage.

What is the shelf life of the unopened tomato paste? The price for 12 is very reasonable but I do not want them to spoil before I can use them all.

The "use by" date on the box I bought is 3-31-16. It's still a lot of tomato paste, but I gave some away.

Where were the tomatoes used in this product grown?

says it is a product of Italy. I keep several on pantry shelf, really like for the small addition instead of opening a can of tomato paste, refrigerate after opening

Flavorful and spicy

This is a really good edition to an Asian dish I made. I will warn you however, it’s spicy. I like spice so when the recipe said optional add 1 tablespoon, I added 2. My mouth is on fire. Flavorful but proceed with caution!

Good and convenient for soups and spaghetti

Easy to use to thicken up soups, spaghetti vs canned paste that always tastes metallic in the cans. Has better flavor than other brands. Just the right amount and easy to squeeze out of tube.

Flavorful and Convenient, Cap Could Be Tighter

I love the intensity and convenience of this tomato paste—perfect for recipes that only need a spoonful. It blends easily and saves waste compared to cans. The only thing I’d change is the cap, which could screw on more securely to avoid minor leaks. Still, I keep it stocked in my pantry.

Great dairy free pesto

Super convenient to have, especially since my husband has a dairy allergy and every pesto you find on the shelves has dairy. This is a little on the expensive side, but I love adding a little pesto to various pasta dishes I make and this is just so convenient to have on hand.

BEST BECAUSE ITS NOT BITTER! Go Italy :D

I’ve never liked using tomato paste in any recipe because why do I want to make any dish hyper bitter?! (I’m not good with butter nor tart).Even if it’s supposed to improve the texture and give more tomato punch, pastes are always nasty flavored.Then one day I saw this in my local grocery. I had a recipe calling for tomato paste, saw it was an Italian import, decided to try it on a whim.OMG! It’s changed everything!My Pasta Sauce was A-MAZING. So I tasted the paste right out of the tube and it wasn’t heinously bitter! It was intense tomato flavor with a touch of bitter but also a touch of natural sweet! Like vine ripened tomatoes sweet.Now my grocery switched to another Italian import brand - also in a tube, so I tried it… Yeah, gross. Liked all the American brands in cans, it was totally bitter.Amazon’s price is very similar to what you’ll find in stores so just buy it here by the carton full! I use like half a tube per recipe which goes on half a narrow long bag/box of pasta.
