The two large ones are about 4.5in, and the seven small ones are about 2.5in. The size of each one is different.

What is the depth of the cut; height of the cookie cutters?

The cutting edge height of the lid is 0.8in without removing it. The cutting edge height of the lid is 1.5in after removing it.

Are they safe for kids to use?

Yes I think so...... one side has covered edge and the sharp edge is down for cutting adult supervision and assistance and kids should be fine!!!
