You need one!!! - I got to use on my 2007 V Rod. Now the challenge is the small backrest and small rack. But this will work great because of the solid make of the bag. The bag even empty holds its shape. I ordered a couple other bags that were less expensive and ones that only had one picture up. This had multiple pictures and a video showing it. That alone gained my purchase. This bag is huge. Haven't used it on a long trip yet but it will fit what a normal airline carry on bag will or more. The straps to attach to the bike are very easy to use. Play with it to see what ways are better then others before your trip. It only took me about 15 minutes to do a few different ways to find what would work best. I suggest doing before when it is empty so your not fighting the extra weight. The backrest I have is very small and the strap on the bag is awesome but will serve its purpose more on a bigger backrest. But with a bigger backrest you almost do not need any other ways to strap it to the bike. I love the option to open from both sides as well as the very back. I was wondering at first why the only inside pocket was mesh & so slender and long but use it for the rain cover and shoulder strap. The D rings are solid and are going to be used to attach my extra Viking barrel roll bag for longer trips. The outside pockets expand and will hold a ton of stuff. I can tell I am going to love this bag. Will attach a pic later. Review: Fits many things - This bag is spectacular. I fit 2.5 full grocery bags in them. One time I got carry out and it fit in there along with my extra large laptop. The laptop is a tank and it has to be put in at an angle, but it still fits. For my daily commute of food and clothing and shoes, it easily fits what I need. I can also fit my camera and lenses in one of those waterproof hard cases with the foam in it. The installation is easy and the side pockets are nice for stuff like kindles and little things. Although the straps have to go in one of them. Also the straps that secure it to the rack at the bottom have to go somewhere, so I put them in the side pockets. You could easily fit your ff helmet and some stuff in there too. If you get little locks, I bet it would be fairly secure as well. The cat fit in there in his little carrier and that made me happy. He does not like all the wind in his face.

Well made with lots of room. Sits well on the rear of my '09 FLHRC Road King. I set it up facing forward on my 2 up seat and used it as a backrest. The velcro straps for securing around a wider 2 up seatback are just barely long enough for it to be secured tightly. Has multiple access points to get to contents without unpacking everything. Shoulder strap is helpful but I wouldn't trust it to carry a fully-loaded bag.

Could have been designed a lot better. Bottom side pouches are almost impossible to get things in and out of because of top pouch. I would look for something better.

it was easy enough to take off my cycle and take into ...
I just travelled over 3,000 miles with it. It held a solid week and 1/2 worth of cloths, plus some cycle accessories, snacks etc. I bought some luggage locks to lock the zippers together so I didn't have to worry about the contents when we stopped to eat lunch. At the end of the day, it was easy enough to take off my cycle and take into the hotel. I attached it to my luggage rack and it stayed put, very snug, no worries there. The rain cover works well and is sturdy. It rained many times on my trip, but the contents stayed dry. The expanded side pockets were real nice and help up just fine during my trip. I looked at a lot of cycle luggage and this was the perfect size for me. Large enough for a weeks ride and small enough to carry in and out of the hotel without much effort. Small enough to fit on my luggage rack. The bottom did extend beyond my luggage rack, specially when you expand the side pockets, but no worries, the bottom is stiff, it held up just fine.

Would highly recommend!
Purchased this for road trip, mounted on front side of sissy bar on passenger rear seat of 2014 Street Glide Special. 1st trip was about 1700 miles with sporadic rain including some heavy downpours. Did not put rain cover on and clothes got wet when bike was parked in rain and we waited out a lengthy downpour... clothes were mostly wet around zipper areas and dried quickly when they were taken out ... entire contents was not soaked. This was the only time contents got wet. Solid mounting options ... bag felt very secure to bike and actually increased comfort as I used it as a backrest. Would highly recommend!

Best Luggage Bag to Date (for a Motorcycle)
I just used this luggage bag for the first time and it has exceeded my expectations. I packed all I needed for a 4 day road trip comfortably and it kept the contents dry with the rain cover. The bag is easy to pack, load, unload and carry around. It is a good design that keeps the weight centered, which is important when strapped to a motorcycle. I used the velcro to wrap around the backrest and 2 bungee cords to the sissy bar, it held tightly and did not shift around. My search for the best luggage bag for my motorcycle is over!

Great bag. Totally dry in rain.
Purchased for 1,500 mile trip on 2014 Honda Interstate. I have the back luggage rack and sissy bar, and mounted up perfect using only the attached straps. never any problems or concern with it being loose. Traveled 1,500 miles across 6 days. One day was about 90 miles of heavy rain. Everything stayed totally dry in the bag with the included rain cover. Tons for space for everything i need to bring. May be a bit small if you are traveling with a passenger, or your an over packer, but great for me.
