IMO- The best survival medicine book out there. Get it and be ready for anything.
If recent events in Maui, Florida, California and other natural disaster-prone places have you a little uneasy you are not alone. These and other tragic events tend to highlight the often slow and inadequate responses of government agencies. You'd think they would be prepared and efficient, but they aren't.For this reason, you need an awesome first aid kit, some basic first aid training, and The Ultimate Survival Medicine Guide. This book needs to be read NOW, before a disaster occurs, because when it happens you will be on your own for at least a little while. You won't have the luxury of being able to sit down and figure it all out once it hits the fan. The book covers various scenarios in which waiting for the EMTs to arrive could cost you or a loved one your lives. If you only manage to learn a few of these essential emergency protocols, you will be miles ahead of the others who are walking around dazed and confused, waiting for help to arrive. In the book, you'll discover:Basic first aid procedures, how to manage wounds, treating fractures, and how to handle infections and contagious diseases. You'll also learn how to put together the best medical emergency kit, one that is customized to your needs. One of the best parts of the book, in my opinion, is its emphasis on being prepared for anything and everything. Get, read it, and memorize as much as you can and you'll be better prepared to take on any challenge. #preparedness, #brownthumbprepper.com, #firstaid, #medicine, #medicalkit, #bugoutbag

great medical advice in general but a little sus about drugs.
I can find most things interesting, but I am not a doomsday prepper and with my medical issues, I'm doomed if there is a collapse. But it is interesting. I like how informative the book is and how the Altons stay mostly within reality. They show real medical knowledge and also emphasize that all the stuff in this book is only for emergencies and should never happen under most circumstances. They also do not bring out conspiracy theories or any junk like that and this book is written by smart and in-the-know people which is more than I can say for much. They even admit that some types of products they talk about are not proven and might not work, which is not something I have seen much. While helpful in a disaster situation their strategies for stockpiling drugs, while intended well in this book worries me because it proves how easily such drugs could be acquired by others for other purposes. The fact that the book goes into such detail to stockpiling drugs makes me a little leery so I took a star off. However, if you read this you will not only know about first aid but also about a lot of interesting and useful medical facts in general.

A treasure trove of information
I certainly haven't read this book cover to cover, but I keep it around and read page or two when the mood strikes me. That's how long a typical explanation for something takes. The few things I've read have been very clear and understandable, and reflect in-depth knowledge by the author(s). I contracted tick-borne Lyme Disease a couple years ago and was in ICU for two weeks, yet I learned more about the transmission of that disease from a page or two in this book than I knew from all my prior reading and talking with doctors. The book covers a remarkably broad spectrum of health issues that are both every day life (ie: tooth problems) and outdoor/survival related (ie: toxic plants). You can jump right into any one that interests you without reading a lot of stuff that doesn't. It's also pretty well illustrated where an illustration is helpful to understand the explanation. Not going to win any awards for artistic quality, but definitely helpful. Reminiscent of my very old Boy Scout handbook .... which I still keep around. I actually can't imagine a better book that isn't something huge and expensive like the Mayo Clinic Health book. This thing is compact and densely packed with good information.
