This bulb is five stars or one-star depending on your use. The one-star reviews are true, it puts out almost zero illumination. I'm using it as an accent lamp in an unusual base on a table and the bulb is what makes it a conversation piece. Definitely worth the five stars. When the bulb is off in daylight it is highly reflective metallic silver. When it is on it is deep blue with lighter blue stars and blue dots. If you have seen an infinity mirror this bulb produces the same effect. The stars have actual depth and are not just light shining through a cutout. When used for an accent lamp it is a great addition to my living room. Yes, that's a 35mm film camera converted into a lamp.

Got for a low subtle light. Perfect for my needs

You can only see the blue twinkles in the dark. With any light all you see is a silver coated bulb. A waste of money

They were beautiful for st. pats day, exactly what I wanted, I read the reviews and I know they didn’t give off a lot of light, but were great for a darker room.

I thought that the design would be better, thought with all the other lights out it would have been bright enough to show the design on the ceiling and walls but no. I did think about replacing my bulbs on my patio string lights with several of these but that would get expensive.

The bulb is beautiful when lit. It does not give off a lot of light; it is more for a beautiful effect. It is worth noting that the box says “Do not use in totally enclosed luminaries”. I believe the reason for that may be that it needs to have ventilation to keep it’s internal circuit from overheating-perhaps the supplier can better explain why it cannot be totally enclosed. So if you plan to use it in a totally enclosed fixture, this probably is not the right bulb. Other reviewers spoke to the effect of the bulb so I won’t repeat that except to say that it is a cool 3D space like appearance.

I love these. I use to keep blue lights in my camper for my dog Rodeo so he could see but it didn't bother him when he was trying to sleep.
