Doesn't hurt to add if you suspect a leak.
Used some in what I suspect to be a slightly leaky (non-limited slip) differential. Good to have just in case.

GREAT PRODUCT!
My girlfriend has an 08 rav4 that had a leaky rear axle seal and viscous coupler. The leaks were both fairly small but within a month the differential would be down to about half full which made me very weary whenever she had to go somewhere. The last thing I would want is to put a rear diff in her car. I typically don't trust these stop leak type of products because in my experience they're usually just snake oil. I read the reviews and figured I had nothing to lose so I tried it out. I must say this stuff is amazing, I added just a little bit over the recommended amount to the rear diff and 2 months later the fluid is still full. I often look under the car to check for drips and there is never a drop. There used to be small drops of gear oil hanging off of the diff about to fall onto the ground but this has completely stopped. You can still see where a very negligible amount of gear oil is leaking down the side of the diff below the seals so I don't think the leaks have stopped 100% but more realistically they've probably stopped about 90-95%. This additive is probably more of a temporary fix because leaking seals usually get worse over time but it's gotten me 2 months without having to pull cv axles and replace the seals so I am very pleased. I cannot speak on the gear repair or ability to stop noisy rear axles that this product claims because I didn't have that issue but it's ability to stop leaks seems to be great. I had very slow leaks and it did well for me but I doubt this stuff would help with more serious leaks. Overall I think this is a great product!Quality: 10/10Price: 10/10Leak repair: 9.8/10

it stopped the pinion bearing from leaking at the driveshaft
my rear pinion bearing was bad and leaking it fixed the leaking unfortunately the bearing had been leaking so long i needed a new one but it reduced the noise of the bad bearing by quit a bit. I was able to get a couple of thousand miles out of the bad bearing before I had it changed. I didnt follow the recommendations I didnt mix this stuff I put all four quarts in and I think i use a little bit of the recommended oil just to fill the diff. It will fix a seal but it aint gonna fix a bad bearing. So its a temp fix if anything. After I had my bearing replaced I filled it up with this stuff.

Okay
Okay but did not stop the leak in my 2005 Tacoma. Maybe if I had put another bottle in would have worked.

Stopped my leak
Noticed a leak while in arizona, wasn’t expecting much if anything. I am surprised because so many “snake oil” products don’t work. My pinion seal was leaking had about 800 miles to home. Put it in and topped off differential when I filled up with fuel. The next fuel up about 350 miles I checked the diff, no leak, checked to be positive I had fluid in it still and was surprised it was 3/4 full still. Topped it off and went on. Checked the next fill and was still full. I’m happy, but still getting seal replaced. It worked in a pinch!
